She is a 28 year old artist from Moscow who creates beautiful designs from vertical pieces of thin paper and her website is full of inspiration in color, line, shadow and technique. You don't have to be a fellow quiller to wish you were like this great lady. Even though her pieces would be amazing if they were drawn, it was the fact that they are 3d that caught my attention. I imagine one of her expert pieces would take hours, which I do not have... So I tried a simpler, version that can be displayed in any house.
When my husband and I were engaged, I bought wooden letters to spell out 'save the date' and covered them with different patterned paper. Each letter in Aierbazzi is a plant, and when you type a word it puts the next plant right on top of the previous one, creating a unique bouquet for your words and phrases.
This bottom plant on the sugar cube wrapper says “Debbie and Tony” and the top one says “Love Kathy.” When you fold the sugar cube wrapper, the plants wrap around the sugar cube showing their wedding date on the bottom. Here’s my best shot at a sewing tutorial. I’ve never written up a sewing project like this before, so I am going to try my very best to be specific, but I just really sew by trial and error, and I don’t know all of the technical terms for things. What you need: Fabric- you want something a bit heftier on the outside, and something somewhat durable on the inside. Here’s a step by step: Step 1: Cut rectangles. Step 2: Cut the interlining. Step 3: Starting at the short edge that is sewn, measure about 1/3 of the way down the long edge, and mark it. Step 4: I can give you more. Step 4: Turn your purse inside out and iron it.
