Dot: 360º video capture for the iPhone 4 by Jeff Glasse & Kickstarter

We call it Dot. It’s a stylish, durable and downright pocketable 360º (panoramic) lens attachment and app for the iPhone 4. What does it do? Dot lets your iPhone capture immersive, fully navigable, panoramic video in real-time - and share with friends on your phone, as well as on Facebook and Twitter, or streamed online using our awesome panoramic video web platform and player. Cool, right? We're excited too. But seriously, our secret beta testers have already had a lot of fun taking it to concerts, the park, on moped rides in Italy, and showing cramped apartments to mothers halfway around the world.

So? We haven’t slept much. We’ve spent the past few months researching, designing, prototyping and coding. Let's do it! We’re excited to bring our cutting-edge (read: magical) panoramic technology to a much wider audience – and even more excited to see what you guys will do with it. Thanks for your support. LED Lights Make Augmented Vision a Reality

We know LED lights are versatile enough to be used for practically anything, but LED contact lenses? Really?! Yes, as it turns out, really. University of Washington researchers have figured out how to implant semitransparent red and blue LED lights in contact lenses, for the purpose of receiving and displaying data in sharp visual images and video.

23 incredible new technologies you'll see by 2021. 100 Websites You Should Know and Use. In the spring of 2007, Julius Wiedemann, editor in charge at Taschen GmbH, gave a legendary TED University talk: an ultra-fast-moving ride through the “100 websites you should know and use.”

100 Websites You Should Know and Use

Six years later, it remains one of the most viewed TED blog posts ever. Time for an update? We think so. Below, the 2013 edition of the 100 websites to put on your radar and in your browser. If you’ve been following our coverage of 3D printers, you know that I’m absolutely in love with them. They enable all sorts of amazing creations that were previously unheard of in the world of science, medicine and, perhaps most importantly, toys. The latest 3D printer project from University of Pennsylvania has the potential to save lives and be revolutionary at the same time. Scientists have theorized about the possibilities of making organs through 3D printing for a few years now. The bioengineers at Pennsylvania have found a way to make this more of a reality by finding a way to create blood vessel systems out of sugar via 3D printers.

This is a huge step forward as any potential organs created via 3D printers would need the necessary blood vessel framework to deliver oxygen and remove waste. Patrick Lo: The Internet of Tomorrow. No-one would dispute the profound impact that the Internet has had on the way we interact, learn and do business. On a seemingly daily basis, we witness advances in speed, mobility, gadgetry and applications that continue to propel us into the web of the future. In 15 short years we've come from being tethered to the wall by a crushingly slow dial-up connection to being able to access our email on a plane using a tablet.

But the Internet of tomorrow has many more surprises in store. And I believe the web is going to change the world, once again. The majority of Internet landmarks can be traced back to the Bay Area. I founded NETGEAR on a vision of a connected world where anyone can get online, anywhere at any time using virtually any device. The Telework Research Institute reports that 17.2 million people work from home at least one day per week, and telecommuting overall is on the rise. The Internet is already more pervasive than ever. The internet of tomorrow is about "more. "
