Best Affordable Outerwear – Fall/Winter 2012. One of the best things about fall and winter is that you get to break out and wear your favorite coat almost every day. That is… unless you don’t have a coat you actually like, and you’re stuck in that frumpy old thing, or worse yet, that very functional but not so good looking jacket you hit the slopes in. A good coat is like a good suit. Put it on and you feel darn near invincible. All of the following should help most on a budget get that feeling, but just don’t go testing out your new found invincibility by running into traffic or hammer bros.

But if your date looks cold, by all means offer her your coat. Banana Republic Charcoal Houndstooth Wool Coat – $192.50 w/ BRFALL ($275) Subtle pattern. One of, if not the best of this year’s crop of topcoats. Banana Republic Moleskin Coat – $175.00 w/ BRFALL ($250.00) Looking rich without the Swiss bank account Wasn’t anticipating liking this at all, but it’s incredible. There are different gákti for women and men; men's gákti have a shorter "skirt" than women's. Traditionally the gákti was made from reindeer leather, but now it's more common to use wool, cotton or silk. The gákti can be used with a belt (pleated, quilted or with silver buttons), silver jewellery, traditional leather footwear and a silk scarf. It is also a tradition that if your buttons on the belt are square, it shows that you are married. It's not every day that you can look at risqué pictures on your work computer without worrying about getting in trouble. Unless you're looking at these pictures of 19th-century beauties from Retronaut, of course. Some of these seem more at home on greeting cards than hidden away in boudoir cabinets. Close up of green/white striped seersucker fabric showing the weave details. Seersucker is a thin, puckered, all-cotton fabric, commonly striped or chequered, used to make clothing for spring and summer wear. The word came into English from Hindustani (Urdu and Hindi), and originates from the words "kheer aur shakkar", literally meaning "rice pudding and sugar", probably from the resemblance of its smooth and rough stripes to the smooth texture of milk and the bumpy texture of sugar.[1] Seersucker is woven in such a way that some threads bunch together, giving the fabric a wrinkled appearance in places.

This feature causes the fabric to be mostly held away from the skin when worn, facilitating heat dissipation and air circulation. It also means that pressing is not necessary. History[edit] During the British colonial period, seersucker was a popular material in Britain's warm weather colonies like British India. Weaving process[edit] Gallery[edit] Suit of armor hoodie. A person called Chadwick John Dillon produced this suit-of-armor hoodie. He's apparently selling it (or possibly producing them to order). The details require a Facebook account, which I don't have. Chadwick, if you're reading this, consider me interested (though not interested enough to give Mark Zuckerberg all the intimate details of my life!). Update: From the comments, Melissa Gutierrez sez, "The maker has an Etsy shop that is in vacation mode at the moment because of overwhelming interest in said hoodie.

" My friend Chad just made this shirt of armor and it’s for sale! Hit him up for the details! (via Super Punch)
