I started growing this legume shrub in my garden because it improves soil fertility by fixing atmospheric nitrogen. But I soon discovered that pigeon pea has many more uses: It's a staple food crop that provides good protein. I think the main reason is that I hate cooking so much. Fruit you can eat all day, just as it is, fresh, organic, yummy, juicy and bursting with flavour! There are only so many celery sticks and lettuce leaves that you can munch on in a day... (By the way, tomatoes and avocados are fruits...)
