Programming, Open Source, Hacking and Greedy Corporations
I’m a programmer, a developer, a hacker. I’m mostly involved with the Open Source community and I try to promote open source development as much as I can. Unfortunately, most of the time when I tell someone that I’m a “developer”, they don’t understand the concept, and when I start talking about open source, they understand me even less. The world is full of people with different background, with deferent references and we don’t always understand each other. As most of you who read my blog would probably know, I’m involved in the PS3 hacking scene, and I see a lot of misinformed people, and I read a lot of things that don’t make any sense to me.Métiers

Project managers have a huge list of software tools that can help them do their jobs, ranging from simple spreadsheets to groupware with collaboration features to full project management solutions. These tools can be very expensive, but a growing number of open source projects offer similar functionality without the high price tag.An open source collaborative network

63 Top Commercial Open Source Projects - Datamation
Frequently, Datamation publishes lists of free Linux and open source software . This time, we're doing something a little different: we’re highlighting outstanding commercial open source software. Before we go any farther, we should define what we mean by "commercial open source software." As with many topics in the open source world, different people have very different opinions about what that phrase means. Some argue that if an open source project has a commercial side it's not truly open source any more.Benefits of open source desktop search engines There was a time when finding the right content was simply a matter of retrieving the right floppy disk from the shoebox. Those days are long gone. Now the average desktop computer contains hundreds of gigs, and in some cases terabytes, of data! So much information is interrelated that a simple hierarchical arrangement of folders and files may no longer be sufficient to find what you need.
