Caramel Apple Pie Tartlets - I Wash You Dry. For the past few months I have been thinking non stop about how to create a caramel apple cupcake. Seriously, for a few months now! I love the combination of caramel and apple, and I think it would be insane good wrapped up in a cupcake. I’ve tried a couple times, but I’m still putting together the perfect recipe for you. So in the meanwhile I came up with these cute little treats. I had an extra pie crust in my fridge and I wasn’t sure how I was going to use it up, but the idea of smooth caramel and sweet apple came to mind all over again. This is a simple “throw-together-treat” you can serve for a fun dessert. Just cut circles into the pie crust that are just slightly bigger than the mini-muffin tins. Gently push them down into the holes and throw them into the oven for 5 minutes. Meanwhile peel and core a granny smith apple. Dice up the apple into small pieces. Do the same to those yummy caramels. Add two tablespoons of sugar and a teaspoon of lemon juice.

More caramel?? Give it a good mix. Nutella & Peanut Butter Cookie Sandwich - I Wash You Dry. Mini Ombré Valentines Day Cake for Two - I Wash You Dry. Blueberry Cheesecake Crème Brûlée. Philadelphia® Dulce de Leche Cheesecake Recipe. Chicken Divan, Lightened Up. Broccoli and chicken in a creamy cheesy sauce, topped with more cheese and breadcrumbs. Your family will thank you for this! Casseroles are highly requested makeovers, so I will try to publish at least one new casserole a week. Put in your requests here if you have a favorite.

Chicken Divan was created in the 1930s at the Divan Parisian Restaurant in Manhattan, and since has become an American classic. You can make this quicker by using leftover chicken, or precooked chicken breasts. So, are you still feeling the love from yesterday? Are you all stocked up on chocolate-ness? After much frolicking with the recent Vanilla Cream-Filled Double Chocolate Cake for Two (which actually became for one), I was feeling a serious need for vanilla and pastel. That, and Grant is a vanilla-man, through and through, so I thought I might make something for us to share to celebrate Valentine’s Day — something super vanilla, but made with a bit more love, a bit more going on and a whole lot of colour.

This time, the colours took cue from the flavours, which I knew had to include blackberry compote and fresh blackberries. I’ve been craving this for so long, and I don’t know why I waited this long. So colourful swirls aside, what’s going in inside this cake? Sure, I do call this a “cake for two” with its bitty 5-inch diameter, but it could definitely work for three or four (if you’re into that sort of thing). Kind of like this. So there we go! Vanilla Blackberry-Mascarpone Cake for Two. Taffy Apple Tartlets. A new Pampered Chef recipe I want to try. One of his favorite desserts is my Chocolate Éclair Cake. The last time I made it he suggested that we try a Peanut Butter Chocolate Éclair Cake. I happen to love peanut butter and chocolate, so I thought that was a fantastic idea!! I made a few simple changes to the original recipe and we had our creation.

Heat the container of prepared frosting, uncovered in the microwave for 1 minute. Sugar Cookie Recipe. What would you choose for dessert; a sugar cookie or a slice of chocolate cake?

If you’re anything like me and those two items were in your home, the sugar cookies would be hanging around long after the chocolate cake was polished off. Don’t get me wrong, I do like sugar cookies, but love them… Not so much. But trying to decorate chocolate cake to give as gifts - that wouldn’t work as well as sugar cookies do. Which leads me to the reason why I’m writing this post today – I’ve come up with a sugar cookie recipe by playing around with some favorite recipes. It’s definitely tasty, although it’s still not in the ‘chocolate cake’ category. If you try it out I’d love to hear what you think in the comment section below.

Before I get to the recipe, let me share a little introduction to the ‘Polar Bear Parade’ cookies with you. Butterbeer Cupcakes. As promised last week, here is another post dedicated to my jaunt to sunny Florida. But instead of featuring their famous fruit, this time I’m focusing one of their famous attractions — The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Last spring we spent our entire trip at Disney World (as evidenced by my Mickey Cupcakes), but since then Universal has opened Harry Potter land, and so Ryan, my brother Scott, and I had a reason to go back in 2011.

I’ve always loved Island of Adventures because of their really great roller coasters, but now with this whimsical addition, the park is even more of a “must see” in Orlando. I had seen these cupcakes on Amy Bites before we left, and knew I’d want to give them a try after I had sampled “real” Butterbeer at the park and as a way to celebrate our trip. We really enjoyed their rendition of Diagon Alley and Hogwart’s — the buildings were kind of tilted in towards the walkway so you really felt like you were there. For the cupcakes: For the buttercream frosting: Strawberry Shortcake Sushi + Strawberry Coulis.

Sometimes all I want to talk about is ice cream and puppies. Sometimes all I think about is dessert, and sometimes I fall in love with a blog (like sprinklebakes) and can’t stop thinking about techniques. Next thing you know, I’m making strawberry shortcake sushi. It’s my brother’s birthday. And since my mom’s in town he wanted us to make brunch (I mean lunch) for him. My mom made sandwich-rolls aka rearranged cheeseburgers and potato salad and I made this for dessert, with her help, of course. She helped roll the sushi and helped me sample everything this morning. Oh, and she’s the hand model down there holding chopsticks. On Wednesday, I wondered what would happen if you combined Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies with Oreo Stuffed Brownies . On Thursday I found out. And on Friday… I had this. This beautiful, ridiculous, indulgent, outrageous, illegal in 48 states, totally wonderful ultimate layered cookie and brownie treat. It is without a doubt, completely and utterly insane.

But I mean that in a good way. These dangerously decadent chocolate chip cookie ‘n brownie bars combine the best of a gooey chocolate chip cookie , warm fudgy brownie , and an extra sweet double stuffed Oreo . All you need is a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe (using a little less flour than you normally would), some double stuffed Oreos, a family-sized brownie mix for a 9×13 pan, and some hot fudge chocolate topping for good measure.

Line a 9×13 baking dish with wax paper and spray with cooking spray. Whip up your cookie dough and spread it in the bottom of the pan. Cover with Oreos… And pour on plenty of fudgy brownie batter. Cupcakes. Hot Chocolate Cupcakes. I’m a big fan of layers. This is the very reason why Fall and Winter make me leap for joy. These seasons give me the ability to wear a tank top, a t-shirt, a button up, and a jacket (and maybe a scarf)…all while not perspiring. Perspiring sucks. So does shivering, I guess; but at least I sorta get an ab workout when I shiver. AM I RIGHT?! I dig food layers, too. These cupcakes? P.S. 1st layer: The chocolatey chocolate cupcake. This recipe was written for my soul. (Side note I’m-not-getting-paid-to-say: I bought Newman’s Own Orangic Chocolate because they were out of Green and Black, and I might be my new fav. 2nd layer: The chocolate ganache center.

Better than Toll House Big Chocolate Chip Cookies. This is another twitter recipe. I follow Chris Garboski, aka @nestlefoodie, on twitter. A few months ago she tweeted that the Toll House Cookie was even better if you used half the butter. What? Even better? Well, I am up for that challenge. I decided to break out my new muffin top pan (a al Picky-Palate) and make us some BIG cookies. The best thing about these cookies is that they are low-fat since they only have half the butter!
