Al principio de curso muchos profesores hacemos lo que se llama la “prueba inicial”, la cual no tiene validez académica (no tiene nota) pero que sirve para ser consciente, tanto el alumno como el profesor, del nivel inicial que tiene sobre una disciplina determinada.
Muchas veces estas pruebas iniciales están dirigidas al mero cálculo de ecuaciones, cambio de unidades, etc. Desde mi punto de vista (que comparten muchos docentes), creo que es más importante detectar las ideas previas que tienen los alumnos, haciéndoles pensar sobre una situación, y que son más difíciles de cambiar que cualquier deficiencia matemática. Así, se puede saber el nivel de física que tiene un alumno, y cualquier ciudadano, sin que tenga que hacer ningún tipo de cálculo.
