One shabby chick: Family Passport Wallet Pattern. OK So I finally did it!

one shabby chick: Family Passport Wallet Pattern

The pattern is up and ready to go! I had a few lovely testers try it out for me and I feel like I've read through it like a million times now! It actually consists of two patterns - a 6-passport wallet pattern and a 4-passport wallet pattern (both with a pocket on the back for travel papers). I have the listing up on my Etsy shop and to celebrate I'm offering 10% off my entire shop with coupon code newpattern.

If you want to try and win a copy, each of my testers are holding a giveaway on their blogs (their posts might not be up right away, so check back if they are not up yet): Lunden Designs Crafting... Fold-n-Go Pony Farm. A girl and a glue gun: car mat. A girl and a glue gun: Littlest Pet Shop mat. Little Girls and Polka Dots: a felt play mat. We recently celebrated a BIG SIXTH BIRTHDAY here!!

Little Girls and Polka Dots: a felt play mat

And the birthday girl put in an order for what she wanted: "A doll with blue hair, shoes, makeup, red lips, her eyes open, her hair down and a blue dress" So I obliged . . . and she loves it. And since the birthday we've seen and heard a lot about these long tresses. It is such a great princess movie. I was most excited about this last gift for her. So here is my take on a girl's play mat. Thank goodness the birthday girl was willing to share, cause everyone wanted to play with it! DSC_0542-1.jpg picture by jkroberta - Photobucket. Princess Finger Puppets. A couple months ago I ran into just about the cutest little finger puppets I ever did see.

Princess Finger Puppets

Jill over at Made it on Monday came up with these pretty little princess puppets and I just haven't been able to get over at how darling they are. I couldn't resist making some for my niece for Christmas this last year. Perfect for a pretty little princess puppet show. Jill glued hers together but I chose to sew some of the pieces and then use fusible webbing to put the rest of it together. I just can't resist using fusible webbing when doing felt projects. . . . I used stiff felt for my castle bag and extend Jill's pattern to make the castle a little bit longer. The best part is that Jill was nice enough to share her patterns with all of us. I just love these little dolls . . . Made it on Monday: Tutorial: Disney Princess Finger Puppets. She needed a bag to carry them in, so we made it the shape of a castle.

Made it on Monday: Tutorial: Disney Princess Finger Puppets

They really were so simple to make, and oh-so-much fun to play with. And since I already put the time into making pattern pieces, why not share the with you so you can make them too? You can download the PDF patterns here. It’s a document with five pages that look like this: The supplies you’ll need are: Various felt colors (white/tan, pink, yellow, green, purple, red, dark blue, black, light blue), hot glue, ribbon. Each page tells you the princess’ name and each piece you’ll need to cut and from what color. Cut out your pattern pieces and then you’re ready to glue them together! For the castle bag, I cut out two pieces in pink and a piece of pink ribbon. Then enjoy how proud your little lady is of her puppets! If you make a set, I’d love to see them! Thanks for stopping by!

Car seat organiser. Search results for Gingerbread. It is often a challenge to fight (and be victorious over) the insidious merchandizing and commercializing out there when it is time to hold a birthday party. Emily loves princesses, dolls, fairies and all things girlish. And she always wants Dora, Strawberry Shortcake, Barbie, Cinderella (and her Disney cronies) whenever she thinks about toys, parties and presents.

Pink-and-glitter plastic in the stores, but I also want Emily to like how her parties turn out. Her see that it's OK not to have stuff that everyone else seems to have. Unique is good, not bad, and handmade unique, while risky, might be even better. This year we had a Doll Party. You can read the full post in the family blog but, on the advice.
