With the success of Jesus' spell, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) ripped out the heart of Marnie's last protector and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) shot her dead.
But in Bon Temps death isn't necessarily the end and Marnie's vengeful spirit discovered the perfect vessel for her return: Lafayette himself. In the aftermath of the battle, Bon Temps seemingly returns to normal and even Sookie doesn't suspect that Marnie is still out there yet.
