Disney Movie Inspired Eye Makeup. What do you get when you combine classic Disney movies with makeup? Magic! Makeup artist Katie Alves has transformed scenes from some of our favorite childhood films into elaborate eye makeup. The 21-year-old first picked up her makeup brush back in October 2010 to paint a small design on her lips, but her artistry has blossomed and gained her a huge following.

Alves takes to her website to dish on the creative process behind her Disney-inspired makeup masterpieces. Read on for the deets! "Alice in Wonderland" MAN did I ever get a lot of requests for this one. For the love of god, please don't go "That mushroom isn't orange! Whether you take it all the way up to your brows or just stick with liner, bright, colorful eyes are a great way to brighten up a drab outfit.

Elin T. Elin creates a stunning rainbow that shows off her beautiful eyes. Veronica M. Veronica tones it down with a sweeping eye liner. Lauren S. Lauren creates a vivid, sunset toned rainbow on her eyes. Hair Chalking. On the Mirror/ Mirror shoot I learned about this new temporary hair coloring technique using soft wax pastels ( like the crayon, not really chalk). It was so easy to get this cool dip-dyed look, that I tried it when I got home! Here is how to get started- The Rembrandt brand pastels work the best and have the most variety of colors. Wear latex gloves ( your hands and manicure will be very colorful if you skip this step, I found this out the hard way). Drape a towel around your neck and on the floor ( it can get a little messy). Here are the steps to coloring your hair with pastels- -Use a spray bottle filled with water to dampen small pieces of hair.

-Hold the stand of hair tight and rub on desired color of pastels to hair in a downward motion several times until the color catches. To remove the color completely, shampoo 2 to 3 times. Model At Mirror/Mirror shoot My hair! Tutorial: Beyonce’s ‘Why Dont You Love Me’ Eyes | Beaut.ie. Here’s Sara’s fourth and fabulous tutorial for us – we’re loving all over her Beyonce-inspired eyes and we reckon you will too! Check out her other tutorials here and of course give her blog an auld goo. 1. To start with, I applied Urban Decay Primer Potion Original all over the lid and under the lower lashline with my ring finger. 2. Next, I filled in my brows with Stila Nanda Devi Eyeshadow and an angled brush, making them quite rounded at the front and very thick and groomed-looking. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

So the way I did this was this: 8. 9. 10. 11. 12.Wipe off the brush and from the same quad I took the navy midnight blue and smudged this under the lower lashline under the black. 13. 14. Sex kitten makeup, however - I can do that! Several looks come to mind, but what I demonstrated here is more of a daytime sex kitten look - understated and soft, with pinky nude lips and a classic cat eye. The main attraction of this look is the cat eye. For the lips, I mixed two of my favorite lipsticks: MAC Pink Plaid and MAC Hug Me. Love love, Keiko Lynn. Brown Eyed Girl. Today's look: deep brown eyes with a graded wash and a smudged plum lip. I had major bedhead, so I ran with it and just teased and frizzed my hair. I didn't go out like this; don't worry:) Want to know what I used and how I created this look?

Cheeks and lips: Apply light pink blush to the apples of your cheeks. The end result should be a dark brown eye that gradually gets lighter toward the brow and an imperfect plum lip.

Makeup Monday How-To: Classic Winged Liner. I get a lot of requests for liner tutorials, so here is a quick classic: the winged eye. Step by step instructions are after the jump. I prefer to use MAC fluidline (in either blacktrack or dipdown - I used dipdown here) and a Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush. The bent shape makes it super easy and the brush is thin but dense, so you have more control of the thickness of your line. Also, I swear by fluidline - I kind of hate liquid liner - but it's completely up to you!

Step one: Apply primer. I used MAC bare study paint pot (not pictured), which acts as a primer. Using short, dash-like strokes, apply a thin line just above your lash line. It's best to start with a thin line, because it's way easier to build it up than to make it thinner. I like for my winged tip to look almost like a continuing line from my lower lash line. NOTE: If you have issues keeping a straight line or problems achieving symmetry, it might benefit you to use tape as a guide, as seen here. Things to remember: Tie-Dyed Ends. Ribbon Headband/Side Braid. Peach Streaks. CND Effects Sapphire Sparkle - Beetle Sparks. CND Colour & Effects This may be one of the polishes I've used and loved the most, ever!

It's not a regular polish, it's actually a top coat you can use for impressive layering. Sapphire Sparkle is part of CND's Colour & Effects line and my most favorite of them all, just look at the dazzling duochrome finish: the color shifts from purple, pink to turquoise and blue. These colors just seem to compliment each other so well. The great thing about these is that you have a multitude of options, you can pretty much layer your way to oblivion with these amazing top coats. Sapphire Sparkle layered over Misa's 'A sin worth commiting' Sapphire Sparkle particularly looks great on top of darker hues, like black, grey, taupe, green and blue. Application The application of these CND Effects does not disappoint: they apply smooth and easy. Since Sapphire Sparkle consists out of glass flecks, instead of glitter, you'll get an extremely smooth surface. Beetle picture via TrekNature. Nfu Oh 51 nails. I am sometimes asked how I style my hair, and while my method is far from perfect, I thought I'd show you how! My hair is pretty straight and fine naturally and I always let it air dry. Since I go about three days between washes, I like to curl it on the first day and let it mellow out into some nice waves over the next two. Let's get started! If your hair doesn't hold curl very well then you may want to put a palmful of curling mousse in it when it is halfway dry. First I comb out all of the tangles and apply a liberal amount CHI Iron Guard Protection Spray to prep my hair. Then I stick the top part up in a clippy so I can curl the bottom strands first. (though I want to upgrade to one of the fancy new ones from Sultra soon!)

When I'm done curling the bottom section, I mist it with Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode and comb through the curl with my fingers. Ahh!! If you want to dress it up a little, you can do a braided headband look! Well, that's it! Pretty Hair. Dark Purple with Gold Glitter Nails.
