Most of us are used to porcelain in simple forms like plates, cups; even the dolls have not that complicated design.
She gets mostly inspired by environment, history and mythology, but there are a lot of impulses that affect her work. She says that her work is a “romantic ideal of union with the natural world conflicts with our contemporary impact on the environment”. That statement can really be seen in her sculptures, because they are mostly animals that look half rotten, but the scull is always from a human, so they speak for themselves. The technique she uses is sculpting each piece by having a solid form and then hollowing it out, and the reason why she chose porcelain is because it gives that ghostly touch to her work, and it has the ability to show fine texture.
