DIY: Paper Gift Bows. A few months ago, I started bookmarking some cool DIY craft projects I stumbled across online. I seem to go through spurts of different interests and love to find things that keep my hands busy. Crafty projects are my favorite and yes, I do copy other people's ideas instead of coming up with my own. Common misconception: being a graphic designer does NOT mean I'm artistic. I can't draw. I can't paint. I don't come up with arts and crafts projects on a whim. So I steal other people's projects and make 'em my own.

Because I know I ramble on and on and on about dogs and my house projects, I thought sharing some of my favorite DIY craft projects would be a good idea. Find a bright, colorful page out of a magazine... any size will work. Cut the page into nine 3/4" wide strips. Next, twist the eight long strips into a figure eight (graphic side facing out).

I didn't want a basic frame--I wanted something vintage looking. I found a white-washed frame at half-price, then took it home and did my own antiquing to it by smearing some brown paint on the wood. It came out just the way I wanted it. Beforehand, I had cut all my paint chips to be 2" x 2". Just enough room to write the times of important meetings. Fear not, for there is a super simple way to make a crazy adorable paper basket with just one piece of 12×12 scrapbook paper. And it truly takes less than five minutes per basket. Let’s get right into it…there are a ton of pictures here! You’ll start with a single piece of 12×12 paper with the pattern facing down. This picture is showing you all four sides of the paper with the fold lines all marked. Okay, now it is time to start our folds. Continue folding all four sides in by four inches. Now you’re free to fill it up however you choose.
