Yes, you have to meet all the academic requirements. But surviving and thriving means managing other things too - like advisor issues, balancing career and personal demands, facing a cold or isolating departmental climate , and/or staying motivated and productive despite delays and setbacks to research progress. The Career WISE resource is unique. http://careerwise.asu.edu/

The Pediatrician

Pediatricians manage the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of their patients, in every stage of development - in good health or in illness.
I often get interview questions from students about becoming a pediatrician. Typical questions include how much school do you have to go through, what influenced you to become a pediatrician, typical salaries, etc. While I am going to answer many of those questions, if you are doing a school project on a career in pediatrics, I think it is best that you talk with a pediatrician in your community and do the interview in person. http://pediatrics.about.com/cs/pediatriccareers/a/pedi_interview.htm
