The University of Alabama has a green building policy emphasizing LEED design principles.
Five buildings on campus meet LEED criteria, and four residence halls are Energy Star labeled. The university has installed building water metering, water-efficient laundry technology, and leak detection and reduction systems throughout campus. All new buildings at Baylor University are built to obtain LEED certification. Drexel University designs toward LEED Silver standards; however, new construction is registered and rated using the Green Globes rating system. The University of Florida requires that all new construction projects and major renovations meet LEED Gold criteria.
