Christmas printables and glitter technique

I have discovered a love for my brayer. I don’t know why `I haven’t used it much over the years, but I keep finding new crafty experiments to do with it. I’ve been working on a few printables for Christmas. I’m tweaking them a bit so some of my samples are slightly different to the finished products, but I will try to mention how. One problem is that I have a bad habit of crowding the elements on the page. But I did want to show you this cute technique. Squeeze a bit of glitter glue onto another piece of card. Load up your brayer with the glue, but run it back and forth over the card, which will take off any globs and smooth it out to a thin coating on the rubber.

Now brayer the glue, with a light touch so you are hitting JUST the embossed (raised) areas. Trim the embossed and glittered piece to fit your card. Pretty, and pretty simple. Snowman Celebration

I am really behind in making Christmas cards, so I pulled out Celebrate the Season to make this card. I started by making a 5 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch card base from Pure Luxury white card stock. Then I masked off the bottom 1 3/8 inch, using sticky notes, and sponged Memento Danube Blue ink. I cut some curves on sticky notes to mask off a little higher and sponged again, , to create a snowbank. Re-positioned the sticky notes to create another snowbank. Re-positioned again for another snowbank. I used the same mask to stamp the trees, from Follow Your Dreams, stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves. I stamped the trees a few more times, then stamped along the most distant snowbank, without re-inking so the trees would appear lighter and thus further away. I stamped the snowman, from Celebrate The Season, and colored with Copics, starting with C1. Added C3. Then added BV11 to deepen the shading.

For the nose, I used YR07 and for the arms, I used E57. Started shading the hat with N7. {capture the moment}: Introducing Bird Watching & Additions. Melissa Bickford has been building quite a following since her very first stamp set released with us, Women of Life.

Candle Set

In one of the magazines that we get as demonstrators for SU there was a project for a decorated candle and holder. The holder was very clever because they used the corner of a cereal box to make it. My only problem with the holder was how I was going to accomplish the task of cutting out the corner of the box as nicely as they did without seriously distorting it. Penny Black, Inc.
