Yahoo is joining the bandwagon of local daily deals. On Tuesday, Yahoo said that it teamed with more than 20 daily deal sites – including Groupon, the best known among them – to make the offers available to Yahoo’s millions of users. The partnerships make Yahoo a player in the local online deal phenomenon, which has gained widespread popularity among consumers over the last year.

First came the local daily deal sites: Groupon, LivingSocial, BuyWithMe. There were so many it was hard to keep up. Then came the daily deal aggregators like Yipit and 8coupons .
