A Knit Leaf In Three Sizes

Actually I’ve been making leaves all year. I’ve been trying out different patterns and styles and coming up with my own little touches. Yep, more than one person has received a stack of knitted leaves from me this year for no particular reason. Do you ever need a reason to give a yarny gift? Nope! Then fall landed on me and it touched off another round of leaf making. Summer Rose Coasters ~ Pattern. As promised, here is the pattern to my Summer Rose Coasters.

Crochet as usual has come to my rescue amidst all the chaos here.I made these coasters with some Laura Cotton yarn I flicked from my mom, no easy feat my friends, not the making ,I mean the flicking coz she guards them with her life! First came the idea for the coasters , then the idea for the basket to hold the coasters. The pattern kind of evolved as it went and I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out. Don't you feel like smiling when you look at them? Daisy Flower Crochet Pattern. I’ve created a pattern for two different daisy flowers and if you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen me ask which one you like better…Because I can’t decide!

Daisy Flower Crochet Pattern

My daughters room has a daisy flower theme and I want to make some sort of crochet blanket to match her decor… but I can’t decide which daisy would be best. I think #1 is more groovy/hippie/cartoonish (the 6 petal daisy) and #2 looks more realistic. I was shocked to receive over 2400 Facebook comments about this flower! Thank you! It seems as though most of you like the realistic daisy better (option #2). How to Crochet Circles Part 1. There are many ways to crochet circles–flat circles, solid color circles, multicolor circles, circles with continuous rounds and more.

How to Crochet Circles Part 1

I want to address this, because I get asked about this all the time. I’m splitting the subject up into several blog posts, and will post later on how to make continuous rounds, and how to make invisible beginnings and ends to multicolor rounds. For this post, I’ll be talking about how to crochet flat circles with joined rounds in single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. These flat circles can be the basis of many crochet projects such as hats, bags, potholders, pillows, afghan squares and more. The first step to crocheting a flat circle is to get the right number of stitches in your first round.

Lace spiral coaster. OK so a coaster isn’t exactly the most awe-inspiring use of crochet but I’ve been out of the game for a while – baby steps people, baby steps….

Lace spiral coaster

I’ve seen many different instructions for this kind of spiral pattern and I tried a few but they didn’t seem to work out properly so I started from scratch and came up with my own method that produces a nice flat piece of work. I used crochet thread and a 2.5mm hook but there’s no reason you can’t scale it up. In the time I’ve been away WordPress have added a feature that shows me where all the people who view my blog are from. Coasters. Spiral Coaster/Potholder Pattern.
