Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.” Henry Ford At the start of this year I made a decision that I want to commit to myself to a pursuit of intellect. I’m already a bit of a nerd, so this wasn’t really an alien concept for me, however I quickly realized that in order for me to make educating myself a priority in my life – I would have to make it into a daily habit.

Wow, I did not just say that. 1. “Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world.” 2. They are quick, easy, informative, and give you a glimpse of a subject that you may decide to do more research on later! A lovely reader recommended the podcasts “Stuff you should know” and “Stuff mom never told you” which can be found on the website. 3. This is such a monumental suggestion. 4. Focus more at work. 5. 6. This could be jigsaw puzzles, riddles, math puzzles etc. Me now. Me now. Lanice. Literally Inspired. My Photography Tips. Hello my friends!

My Photography Tips

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today I’m going to share a few tips that I have learned in the past year to wrap up the Photography series. I look at some of my first blog posts and cringe at my pictures. Sometimes I’m tempted to delete them… but I remember those posts are what brought me where I am today. While I’m no where near a professional photographer I think my photos have improved ten fold over the past year. If you missed the Photography series you can start here: Okay let’s get started… See this picture below?

Now this is how I would take it today… See how much more inviting this version looks? One of the things I have learned is to add layers and texture. SO once you have your whole set up outside or by a window (this is key to great pictures) take tons of different angles of the shot. I also love to take a picture from a side or angled view. You can see in this pic I used my Canon 50mm f/1.8 Lens. Homespun. Rule of Thirds. Handmade Spark is a marketing service for Etsy sellers, and a creative blog for the indie and handmade community. Learning how to change her diet has been challenging, because so much of it feels like a list of restrictions. Other guidelines might have well been in another language for all the good they did us (what IS a complex carbohydrate?!). I’ve been doing a lot of research on how to help my mom eat better, and to make it simple, tasty and flexible for her. My research showed me a few things worth noting. One is that type II diabetes CAN be beat. The other thing I learned is that we could probably all stand to eat like diabetics.

So all this leads to my new side project here at the Blue Brick :) I’m going to go on a quest for healthy, easy, tasty recipes and share them here on my blog. I’m going to start with deserts, because mom loves them and I want her to be able to keep eating things she loves. ~The Blue Brick ~ Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes – Blogged here.
