Mobile gadget users might also be enabled to text while walking, watching TV or socializing without taking their eyes off what they’re doing. Georgia Tech researchers have built a prototype app for touch-screen mobile devices that is vying to be a complete solution for texting without the need to look at a mobile gadget’s screen. “Research has shown that chorded, or gesture-based, texting is a viable solution for eyes-free written communication in the future, making obsolete the need for users to look at their devices while inputting text on them,” said Mario Romero, Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Interactive Computing (IC) and the project’s principal investigator.

High performance access to file storage Product Round-up Tablets, eh? A nice idea but a shame about the price. From the iPad to the Xoom, the PlayBook to the TouchPad prices starting at or near £400 are a little on the steep side for many folk.
Well, the TouchPad maybe an exception these days but only very recently. You’ll pay a premium to buy into fondleslabs from Apple, HP or RIM, but Android users have another option, a cheap tablet. These can be picked up for anything between £100 and £230 and sometimes less if you are in the right place at the right time. Across the board cheap Android tablets are nowhere near as ghastly as they were just a year ago. Buying a cheap tablet today may be false economy because what you can get for your money is changing at a dizzying rate. Preparing for successful VDI implementation Review Hey, tablet geeks out there, do you remember what you hated most about Samsung’s original 7in Galaxy Tab?
The grainy display, the glitchy software, the lack of memory, the poorly located buttons that you kept pressing by mistake? Designed for portrait usage I suspect Acer drew up the same list because its Iconia Tab A100 is essentially what the 7in Galaxy Tab isn’t. To be clear: I found the A100 to be extremely usable on the move, much more so than any 10in tablet. Actually thicker - and heavier - than the 7in Samsung Galaxy Tab If 10in is Steve Jobs’ sweet spot for work-and-fun tablets, I'm coming to the opinion that 7in is the sweet spot for computing on the hoof. My personal list of must-have features on a tablet include USB and HDMI connectivity through non-proprietary adapter cables, an SD card slot, and a quality main camera with video recording.
