Soit ils ne comprennent pas qu'il y ait des recherches à mener en informatique (sic), soit ils ont en tête l'image d'Epinal du scientifique en blouse blanche avec ses tubes à essai. Il est recommandé aux personnes qui désirent soumettre une demande d'admission de contacter au préalable le ou les professeurs de l'EBSI qui pourraient agir en tant que directeur(s) de la recherche . Le professeur pressenti comme directeur de recherche peut alors aider le candidat à préparer son document de présentation et à formuler une problématique et quelques questions de recherche. Les demandes d'admission sont autorisées au trimestre d'automne seulement .
