Chris Bryan and the Phantom Camera have produced some of the most circulated surf videos of 2010/2011 and this is bound to join those ranks. It’s no small feat being able to handle a piece of equipment that size when the sea around you is erupting like it was on 27th August 2011, but some how Bryan pulls it off with incredible effect.

- What's In A Breath of Fresh Air?

Some of the ions commonly found in sea air. Opinions on the physiological effects of ions seem to be incredibly polarised between the ardent skeptic and the avid believer. Research seems to be centered around the effect of ionizers, which create a negatively charged atmosphere similar to the relaxing natural environments near waterfalls, on mountains, in forests or by the sea.

http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=1929640 The beaches in Uruguay are very nice and the surf, when it's there, is great too. Unfortunately, Uruguayan surf is anything but consistant. I spent 3 months in La Paloma in 2008 and I could generally count on 2 or 3 surf days per week, however, that was the summer when the waves are small and the wind stays onshore. Uruguayans told me that the spring and fall are the best (winter being so cold that a 4/3 suit is required). The waves pick up and the wind stays mostly offshore.

Before the arrival of the Portuguese in the early sixteenth century, there is little to Réunion's recorded history. [ 4 ] Arab traders were familiar with it by the name Dina Morgabin , [ 5 ] . The island possibly features on a map from 1153 AD by Al Sharif el-Edrisi. [ 6 ] The island may also have been visited by Swahili or Malay sailors. [ 4 ]

Surfing News - Stormriding Mentawai

Telescopes Yet another world-class left that offers more flexibility than most waves in the area. The take-off is steep but not ridiculous and allows entry to a flawless, steady tube section then a whacking wall to a bend in the coral shelf where the next slot beckons. It’s predictable and rarely pinches, is deeper than other reefs, can peel for 200m and handles the constant traffic of intermediates and experts alike. When it’s big (up to triple overhead) the outer reef sets rumble in to the entry point with power and purpose - beware of the wide sets pinning you on the reef with it’s swirling currents. Prefers some W in the swell and mid tide will usually produce the epic sesh. http://magicseaweed.com/Stormriding-Mentawai-Content/3285/13/

Monomoy Point (Outer Cape) Surf Report | SURFcasts.com

Just a few degrees difference in wind direction can make the difference between clean head-high waves and sloppy waist-high mush. Knowing what direction your favorite breaks face is essential to scoring good sessions. A cross shore wind at one spot could easily be offshore for a different spot just a mile down the road. The speed of the wind is also important, and the relevance varies with the direction. A 12 mph onshore wind can make otherwise powerful waves totally unridable, whereas a 12 mph offshore wind might make the wave break even better. http://www.surfcasts.com/forecasts/Massachusetts/monomoyPoint.php

Born in 1949, Adolph B Spreckels III - great grandson of a Germany-born sugar baron, railway tycoon and publisher, Claus Spreckels - grew up in the lap of luxury. When he was five, the world's most famous man became his stepfather. Clark Gable schooled him in the art of hunting and revealed the illusory insanity of the image factory to his young charge.
