An Integral View on the Trajectory of the Human Project on TEDx November 28, 2010 15:06 An Integral View on the Trajectory of the Human Project on TEDx Humans are problem-solvers. The problem-solving triumph of one generation tends to generate more interesting, more complex problems for the next generation to solve. Our generation is the lucky recipient of a qualitatively new class of challenges that cannot be solved without taking a step back to rethink how we make sense of the world and how we approach problem-solving itself. Climate change, terrorism, potential food & water shortages, pandemics, poverty, aging, the error & terror potential of exponential advances in technology and extreme experiments in science… in addition to the ever-present threats from super-volcanoes, mega-earthquakes, near-earth objects, and cosmic rays… How should we prioritize and why? A 21st century guide to spirituality: What is spirituality & what can it do for me?

Beyond labels and boundaries Spirituality is a mysterious and vast field of discovery, and there are as many definitions for it as there are people on the planet. The first error of judgment we are likely to make on the topic is to think that we have a defining answer for exactly what it is. Believing in personal immortality, or having faith in an anthropomorphic God or Gods is not a pre-requisite for an individual to engage in the process of discovery.

In fact, quite often as individuals delve deeper into their own search, many of the more commonly accepted religious or spiritual beliefs and idealisms tend to drop away and give rise to a more experiential, practical, and wisdom oriented way of being in the world. Psychiatrist Dr Larry Culiford said that “Spirituality can be thought of as the ‘active ingredient' of major world religions (and some humanistic ideologies too). Discovery and Experience “The real meaning of spirituality is awareness. Wisdom “All learning is remembering” - Plato. The Yin & Yang of Lifestyle Balance. One of the most important components of a healthy life seems to have been forgotten over the last 50 years or so. No more are the times when people would finish their day of work or study and come home and switch off completely in the company and warmth of friends and family. We seem to think we are switching off, but being bombarded by the frantic sensory rollercoaster of primetime TV is not entirely an act of relaxation!

With conditions like stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia on the rise, we need some down-to-earth remedies to bring us back into a healthy equilibrium, so we’re alive, inspired, and truly ready for what life has to throw our way. One solution to our modern dilemma is to establish clear boundaries between the 'Yin' and 'Yang' components of our lives. When we do not create these boundaries, we find ourselves feeling Yin when we need to be Yang, and vice versa, at the most inconvenient of times.

Establishing the boundaries Start breaking your routines. Five Secrets to Inspired and Enhanced Creativity. Creativity is a remarkable force that forever changes the life of the artist, and in many ways shapes all of our lives, individually and culturally. A beautiful work of creativity has the ability to cut right through our inner barriers and open our hearts and minds to compassion, curiosity, love, to new perspectives on our lives. The inspirational sounds, incredible visuals and humanitarian messages delivered through all forms of art have really contributed so much to our evolution of self, culture and technology.

So what are some of the secrets to creativity? How can we unleash and make the most of our own creative abilities? Here are five very powerful, effective and life-changing principles for artists and creative explorers to get from where they are to where they want to be - in the zone. 1) Be Authentic Whenever you engage with writing, painting, composing or performing music, reflect for a moment on why it is that you are doing so. 2) Break through the boundaries Physiology - Jost Sauer interview - From drugs & destruction to Health, Happiness and Wisdom. Jost Sauer is a rare, gifted and intense individual in our modern world. His story spans over many decades, starting with the tail end of the hippy dream, to drug addiction, fighting cops as an anarchist in Germany, and eventually escaping to Australia. The agony of severe drug and alcohol addiction gave him little choice.

Die, or change his life drastically in order to live with some sense of health and happiness. He chose life, and pushed himself through everything from intense physical training & bodybuilding, to tai chi, meditation, and self development programs. Jost found his calling through studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and became a lecturer in the field. He has developed a model to help us understand the effect of drugs, and the path to recovering towards health and harmony upon quitting. I'd like to start off with an important question. Simply because drugs work. What are the repercussions of drug use? So what are the solutions? Dr. Wayne Dyer - Internationally renowned author and speaker - Official Site.
