Llueve en Madrid. Una rareza que se produce en la capital apenas 63 días de media al año. A pesar de ello, Miguel Domingo va en bici.

As the new year kicks off, it’s a good time to take a look at how a few of our trends for 2010 have played out. One that has gathered significant momentum is Location-Based Everything: “With more location-based services and advanced mobile and mapping technologies hitting the market, the conversation will become as much about ‘where I am’ as it is about ‘what I’m doing’ and ‘what’s on my mind.’” As an example, we cited Foursquare, which launched in March 2009. Foursquare itself grew enormously after making the service available globally at the start of 2010. Last January TechCrunch estimated its user base at around 200,000; today Foursquare claims 5 million users. Meanwhile, 2010 saw the rise of new Foursquare-type tools—geo-location apps that are fun or useful for consumers.
