Having played around with the Kinect already for some time and using it as an input device to control some of my favourite tools ( Processing , vvvv , and Supercollider ), I was excited to see NI Mate released . NI Mate is a small but powerful software that takes real-time motion capture data from a Kinect or other supported device and turns it into two industry standard protocols: OSC (Open Sound Control) and MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface). And they have showed already how to use it to control characters in Blender. I joined their Beta program, but unfortunately it didn't work with the drivers I have installed (SensorKinect, OpenNI or NITE). Uninstalling and updating it with their versions of the drivers was not an option since I fear of some of my other applications might no longer work. http://machinima-studios.blogspot.com/

Now is the time to show us your narrative power and tell us a great story ! We thank Pierre Seveno aka Killer Jarvis who has accepted to let us use his compositions for the MCNP. You can download his work for free on Jamendo . The generic must be positioned at the end of your story, without sound, on black background and bare all the names of the participants (if you do this as a team) as well as their role in the production.
WoW Machinima Tool now does a version check when running to avoid anyone trying to use it on a version of World of Warcraft that is not supported. Fix a bug in the pathing system. (please keep your mouse steady while using the waypoint camera since if you move it, it will still cause the transitions to go faster.) WoW Machinima Tool have finally been updated for 4.0.6 and with that all the features that was missing out during the cataclysm beta release have been updated and fixed.

Hello Underpants Fans! I thought it was about time that I gave an update on my next movie venture. This time it's back to my roots, with the conclusion of ' Underpants Away! ' (Episode 3, 'Ewww!')
If only DAZ Studio wasn’t so laboriously non-intuitive. The Male 3D Model Michael 5 is more than a 3D figure – it’s a stunning breakthrough achievement for the GenesisTM 3D Model Platform. This is the most versatile, realistic, and anatomically accurate male human figure ever made available for public use. This figure is derived from real 3D body scans and high-resolution photographs of real human men. http://cyberhermit.com/

http://killian-wolfsinger.blogspot.com/ ...and still am... Just dropping a note to those who read the tripe I scribble on here and have passed on their good wishes, and those who have mailed me over the last few weeks inquiring about how I'm getting on and so forth; hearty thanks to those goodly folk for your thoughts and support; it's much appreciated. So, an update... where are we? Still in the Slough of Despond, I'm afraid! Life is mad as a brush right now, so I still don't have the time to sit down and write or film or practically anything right at the moment.
http://tmunderground.blogspot.com/ Blogging - I know a lot of people blog on other platforms and will continue to do so - but for those who want to create a production blog for their films or other projects here, it will be available. Forum Features - There's a lot of social media integration (you can integrate with Facebook, Twitter, etc.), including apps for your smartphone. TMU-U is something we've been talking about for at least a year, year and a half. Think of it as online machinima classes. We'll be running distance-learning software, and featuring workshop-based classes on both general filmmaking subjects (writing, editing, sound, etc.) and engine specific subjects (iClone, MovieStorm, the Movies, Second Life, etc.).

Augmented Reality Sandbox Displays Virtual Water Flowing Through Grooves You Make in Real Sand The Augmented Reality Sandbox is a National Science Foundation-funded project at UC Davis which uses Kinect to simulate real time water which flows through the grooves you make in the actual sandbox. It's an awesome demonstration of augmented reality for use in a simulation, and it's also just cool. Watch: Read more about the project here . The site explanation is pretty heavy reading for a non-technical audience, but this is basically how it works:

Second Life: New World Notes

My first forays in things 'machinima' were slideshow stories made using the Sims, like this example. Just your general everyday transexual detective captures fairy kidnappers tale. (what was I thinking?)

I love free stuff. Who doesn't? And I really love free books. For the last couple of months, I've downloaded on average two free novels and two short stories a day. I'm not talking about a load of old public domain stuff from Gutenberg, or classic literature from Amazon.
In my previous post, I brooded over the curious penchant of people seeking fear and terror in theater. Equally bizarre is their willingness to watch movies that make them cry. Isn't crying, almost by definition, the most negative experience a person can have?

I watched a total of 96 movies in 2011. That may seem a lot to some people, but I watch little television. If every movie was 2 hours long, that would be 192 total hours of media or 8 days of total movies in the last year. The movie release by year ranged from the early 1940's up to 2011, with the most watched release year 2010, followed by 2011 (obviously catching up on those releases from 2010 last year).
