From 2012, Monash has merged its existing Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics with the Graduate Diploma in English as an International Language and Postgraduate Diploma in Japanese Applied Linguistics. This merger results in one course, the Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics, which has three streams: General Applied Linguistics (available either on-campus or off-campus), Japanese Applied Linguistics, (on-campus students only) English as an International Language (on-campus students only) Students enrolling in the new Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics can still study the full range of units previously available in Japanese Applied Linguistics, English as an International Language or Applied Linguistics if they choose. Students also have the option of taking an expanded range of electives in the new course as outlined below.
