Times, they are a changing – for brands and consumers both. Gone are the days where a brand tells you what to think about them and as a consumer I duly do as I’m told because I’ve been brainwashed by hundreds of exposures to your brand and product message.
Fellow mobilist and DotOpen Founder Rudy de Waele has drummed up some great predictions, bottom-lines and other assorted wisdoms from 20+ really great people (including myself...for some odd reason; in any case I am really delighted to be asked to contribute - thanks Rudy!), asking us to provide input on out top 5 mobile trends for the next decade. Location-based services are a general class of computer program-level services used to include specific controls for location and time data as control features in computer programs. As such (LBS) is an information and has a number of uses in Social Networking today as an entertainment service, which is accessible with mobile devices through the mobile network and which uses information on the geographical position of the mobile device. This has become more and more important with the expansion of the smartphone and tablet markets as well. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ]
Localization-based services have become more popular as GPS-equipped smart phones have become more prevalent. This means that the future of internet media will depend largely on the Future of Location Based Services , which is also the subject of a forum hosted by the Future of Local Media during Internet Week NY . Phil Thomas DiGiulio , the founder of Future of Local Media , opened the event by introducing representatives of three start-ups for rapid-fire presentations ( LoKast , Postling , and MobileMeteor ).

I just came back form the Geo-Loco conference, which is exactly what it sounds like: a conference focused on adoption of and issues around Geo-Location apps and devices, also known as Location-Based Services (LBS).
