Lindsay Long, MS, LAc Ann Rea, LAc , Harmony and Health Acupuncture, in Phoenix, Arizona Matthew Sheets, MS, LAc , Acupuncture Sports Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma My son Martin Reaves is a professional slalom skateboard racer (pictured above), which has provided a new and interesting athletic event for me to dissect and understand. And with the gang of teenage and young adults that I have grown to adore, other uniquely American sports – longboarding, the skate park, and the half pipe – have developed. And there is always the more traditional athletes, such as runners, triathletes, or cyclists, each of which have their own unique treatment requirements. However, I consider all of us athletes, whether you be the mother taking care of your children, the office worker, the college student. http://boulderacupuncturesportsmedicine.com/articles.html

http://www.acupuncturemedical.org/meditations.html Meditations on the Meridians The meridian system is an invitation to meditate on the nature of our lives in human form. The characters Jing Mai, as that system is called in Chinese, imply that. Jing is normally translated as a meridian, but it also means a sutra, or canonized classic as in Huang Di Nei Jing (Yellow Emperor Inner Classic) or Xin Jing (Heart Sutra). The character implies an organized, systematized network, like the threads of silk. (It is worth noting that the word sutra in Indo-european languages carries a similar connotation of a suture, the underlying fabric of life.)
Classical Chinese Medicine reflects the voices of an international movement seeking to honour and restore the classical origins of Chinese medicine. This site features articles, lectures, and practical demonstrations by Heiner Fruehauf, Ph.D., L.Ac., Founding Professor of the School of Classical Chinese Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, and a group of like-minded scholars in China and the West who are committed to transmit the time-honoured science of Eastern medicine as a highly sophisticated and deeply spiritual art form. http://www.junkyarddaoist.com/ Oriental medicine was not developed in a laboratory. It does not advance through double-blind controlled studies, nor does it respond well to petri dish experimentation. Our medicine did not come from the observations of random cohorts, but from the observation and treatment of individuals in their particular environment. There are books on Oriental medicine, plenty of them over the years. They are useful guideposts, and help give us an orientation with which to understand not only illness, but health. As for methods, perspectives and other’s experiences, we have a vast treasury of printed materials on such topics.
This site mainly deals with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which is the core therapy administered in our clinic. But there is also some artwork to be found. Of particular interest at ACU Centre is TCM's relationship with western medical biosciences (WMB), as well as with disciplines such as hatha yoga. Articles relating to TCM, especially its relationship with 'western' medical biosciences (WMB) and its juxtaposition with western medicine generally, have been posted on various pages of this web site and are continually being added to. THE CLINIC page provides information you need to know about ACUCentre, including the hours of business and an outline of the services provided. http://acucentre.com.au/
