Arts Chiyoda:3331 ARTS CYD. Tokio out of place. The Container. SuperDeluxe. TANA _ Gallery Bookshelf. Gallery Bookshelf TANA Gallery Bookshelf is pleased to announce a new exhibition by Tokyo-based British artist Sam Stocker as an improvisational form of research into vernacularities of Jinbocho - an old town where the gallery building Bigakko is located. The exhibition progress is updated on A Liber Novus blog:2014kandabook.tumblr.com/ Stocker's work is developed through a set of responses to space and the history of the area around the exhibition site.
Since 2008, his practise has been concerned with developing work that uses the influence of Japanese art and architecture on British design. He is currently studying on Prof. His projects to date have mostly been concerned with interior space and domestic architecture, however more recently his work has included collaboration and performance, where the work has started to engage the notion of how people live and engage with public spaces.

TANA _ Gallery Bookshelf. Gallery in the Bookshelf TANA Gallery Bookshelf is a gallery located inside a bookshelf, as the word "TANA" stands for the shelf in Japanese, in a small art studio/workshop Bigakko, one of the least snobby art spaces in Tokyo Kanda district known as the town of second-hand bookstores.
Space as Social Fabric TANA Gallery Bookshelf, while being a tiny cabinet, is social fabric interwoven with artists, visitors, and all the surrounding vernacularities, as an homage to Henri Lefebvre's word "new social relations demand a new space, and vice-versa" with an actual spacial and relational answer. Non Non-commercial TANA Gallery Bookshelf is an independent gallery totally indifferent to commercialism, such as sensational hypes or pedantic critiques, yet commerce is possible without commercialism. Please feel free to be philanthrocapitalist and pay as much as you want anytime for any reason. Opening Hours 14:00 - 21:00 Mon-Sat TANA is normally unmanned except special events (i.e., opening reception). Atelier 485 - Atelier 485. So+ba's Portfolio. Tokyo Wonder Site.
