Suicidal Tendencies - Review & Photo Gallery November 11th @ The Triffid, Bris QLD. Suicidal Tendencies The Triffid, Brisbane QLDNovember 11, 2023 Supports: Mannequin Death Squad and KRAVE Suicidal Tendencies marked their 40th Anniversary celebration of their iconic 1983 self-titled debut at a sold out Triffid show. Opener Krave brought their A-game to their hometown, with Siana Davi‘s dynamic vocals. The crowd caught the infectious vibe, making it clear that Krave is a musical powerhouse. The band’s last song ‘I’m Alive‘ showcased Siana’s impressive screams and growls, leaving a lasting impression. Mannequin Death Squad, a dynamic Melbourne duo, delivered an impressive performance, seamlessly powering through a set of irresistibly catchy melodies. You know you’re in for one hell of a night when people are crowd-surfing before the band have even hit the stage.

The instant Cyco hit the stage, his connection with the audience fueled the energy of the night. Ben Weinman (ex-Dillinger Escape Plan) was his usual best. Review & Photo Gallery by Charlyn Cameron. Los Angeles thrash/hardcore heroes Suicidal Tendencies have unveiled the local supports who’ll be joining them on their sold-out 40th anniversary Australian tour this month.

A handful of local acts will be sharing support duties on ST’s Still Cyco Punk After All These Years Aussie rampage, kicking off tomorrow on the Gold Coast. Brisbane-based female-fronted alt metal band Krave will warm up the crowd in Coolangatta, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, while Melbourne thrash-pop power duo Mannequin Death Squad will be on deck in Brisbane, Sydney and both Melbourne shows. Elsewhere, Sydney sludge-grunge duo Astrodeath will be joining the fun in Sydney, while Melbourne not-for-profit thrash-punk band Wolfpack will be opening up the mayhem at Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom on Friday, 17th September.

Skip to content SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, MANNEQUIN DEATH SQUAD, KRAVE: The Triffid, Brisbane 11/11/23 Written by HEAVY Share This: Words by Simon Russell-White Pix by SquirtyG First off, The Triffid, Brisbane really is a treat, the reason for it NOT ‘being so subtly tucked away in depths of Fortitude Valley’ is due to its instant gritty attractiveness the moment you enter. Tonight is a celebration of a band that has set their own trend for over 40 years and have never made any apologies for it, in fact they flat out refuse to do so!

L.A’s own Suicidal Tendencies are a culture and sound that is all of their own, being so deeply ingrained that when it’s ST time, the die hards know what’s up and what’s about to go down! It seems like yesterday I witnessed tonight’s opener Krave at a skatepark show in South Brisbane hosted by my music family the Schema Collective. Next up, Mannequin Death Squad, a two-piece from Melbourne. Close to Tye stands founding member, (or close enough to) Mr. Our Picks. Rock. SUICIDAL TENDENCIES - The Croxton Bandroom 2023. Words – ClarePhotos – Mitch Friday night we headed to the Croxton for the ‘Still Cyco Punk After All These Years’ Suicidal Tendencies tour celebrating the 40th Anniversary of their self-titled debut album released in 1983. I am always ready and willing to show up for Suicidal Tendencies when they come to Australia.

Once you join the ST family you become a member for life. These were obviously the sentiments of all the OG fans in Melbourne as this was a sold-out show, so much so that they added another night in Melbourne at the Corner Hotel just to host the overspill. For the first warm-up of the evening we are entertained by thrash pop power duo ‘Mannequin Death Squad’. The next band was brought on for Friday night’s show for obvious reasons. By the time we got to ‘I Saw Your Mommy’ the room was charged up, we saw the first crowd surfing for the night and everyone, including myself, sang along.

Suicidal Tendencies @ Metro Theatre | Blog | Scene Point Blank. Suicidal Tendencies Metro Theatre Sydney, Australia 16 November 2023 Suicidal Tendencies' "Still Cyco Punk After All These Years" Australian Tour marked a seismic celebration of their 40th Anniversary, leaving a sonic storm in its wake. The explosive performance centered around their legendary 1983 self-titled debut album, transporting the audience through time with an unbridled onslaught of raw energy. In the sonic melting pot where Black Flag's intensity collides with Minor Threat's unyielding attitude, Suicidal Tendencies emerged, seasoned with the flavors of Bad Brains and nuances of Thrash Metal.

Their debut album defies easy categorization, transcending noisy angst with a distinctive essence. Dark humor, thrash influence, and ever-shifting tempos create a subjective sonic experience. Grant Estes' Anthrax-evoking guitar solos add depth, while Suicidal Tendencies' mastery of comedic darkness elevates this album beyond mere hardcore. The Triffid was jam packed before the first band went on, so you knew it was going to be a huge night.Starting off were locals Krave. This was my second time seeing them, and they are just amazing.Lead by Siana on Bass and Vocals, Krave are tight, loud and fun, they will only go up from here, make sureyou catch when you get a chance. Mannequin Death Squad were up next with their metal White Stripes vibe. The crowd seemed to really get into themand they played a well received set. Normally people just mill around and chat while set changes take place. Clearly no one told the fans of Suicidal TendenciesWe had moshing, circle pits and even a crowd surfer before the band even took the stage. Before you knew it, it was on. The crowd and band fed off each other as the intensity rose to ridiculous levels.

Congrats to the band and promoters on a sold out run, lets hope its not too long before they are back. Suicidal Tendencies + Mannaquin Death Squad + Krave - The Triffid [Live Review] Suicidal Tendencies: live at the Triffid. 11 November 2023 – The Triffid, Brisbane – words by Joe Harbour – pictures by Bec Harbour Saturday night turned out to be the night I was to leave the comfort of reclusion and venture out amongst the other inhabitants of Brisbane. So what was on? Krave, a local Brisbane outfit, Mannequin Death Squad from Melbourne, and headlining was Suicidal Tendencies. Krave kicked it off with some nice crunchy guitar and got the crowd warmed up with their brand of metal. Krave – Triffid – photos by Bec Harbour Up next was Mannequin Death Squad, a noisy duo from Melbourne who bill themselves as pop thrash and I suppose after listening to them near a loud speaker that’s what they sounded like too!

Mannequin Death Squad – Triffid – photos by Bec Harbour Next was Suicidal Tendencies. They started off with the anthemic ‘You Can’t Bring Me Down’ off 1990’s lights…camera… revolution! And it was on!
