Skip to content (hed) P.E., HEARTLINE, HAMMERS; The Triffid 09/02/2024 Written by HEAVY Share This: Words by Jimmy Glinster Pix by Sarah Gilpin I usually start these things off with a story about my adventure to the venue, but this time around it was a bit of a non-event as I did the 1hr drive without a hitch and then pulled up at carpark just around the corner from the venue. Hammers open up the night with Deadset to a slowly filling room, which is currently at half capacity. Ricky T kicks off the band’s second song Guilty Pleasures with a fuzzed-out funky little bass line that the guitars soon join in on. Anyway, the heads are now bopping in the crowd, and the venue is starting to fill. Fabio gets introduced again, and we get told that he learned the set in 2 jams. Their last song Fuck Around and Find Out is an absolute fucking banger and the band hasn’t lost an ounce of energy.

Heartline starts their set with a full-blown techno intro which could go either way. Our Picks. March 15, 2025. HED PE, THE WEIGHT OF SILENCE, HEARTLINE: Crowbar Sydney 08/02/25. Opening for (Hed) pe in Sydney was the local trap metal and nu-metal hybrid 3-piece band, The Weight of Silence. Their sound seamlessly transitioned between extremely detuned Nu-Metal guitar riffs and groovy EDM breakdowns that had the audience dancing or moshing along furiously. Securing the main support slot with (Hed) pe for the entire Australian tour was Adelaide’s Heartline.

Gomes’ raspy vocals cut through the funky metal tones on stage like a knife through hot butter. Our Picks. Rock. [Review] HED PE @ Crowbar Sydney, 8/02/2025 – Silver Tiger Media. Two years since their last visit, nu-metal fans across the country were well and truly ready for the return of HED PE.

Joining them as main support on all Australian dates are Adelaide’s Heartline with local legends The Weight of Silence making a return tonight. Longtime driving force in the rock and metal scene, HED PE. is known for its unique fusion of rock, punk, reggae, gangsta rap, and soul—often called “G-Punk.” Tonight’s show takes place in the same venue they visited in February of 2023 and we are ready for whatever they throw at us. The Weight of Silence supported HED PE on their last visit, and I have been a fan ever since. Their energy was just what you want from a local band in order to warm up the night. You are already excited for the headliners, but adding a killer local just heightens the night, and I’m so stoked to be able to see them again. Heartline supported on the whole run and had a pretty healthy sized crowd when they hit the stage.

As vocalist, melodic player and all round bad ass Jared Gomes states ‘it’s the only thing he knows what to do’. He does it well.

The last time the guys were here, this reviewer went and thought the show was amazing. The energy from the crowd coursed through the gig hour the venue and Gomes and his crew went for it. That vibe was intense. You want a ten minute journey through Bartender? Mentioning about bringing us stuff, the opening acts deserve fair mention. Adelaide’s own Heartline take on the mantle of main touring support and with good reason. However, as the aroma of green natural substances begins to float through the air, it’s obvious this is (hed) p.e. show. Live Review By Iain McCallum Like this: Like Loading... HED P.E. LIVE: Hed PE at the Triffid - 9 February 2025 – The Triffid, Brisbane – words by Cody-James Henderson – pictures by Charlyn Cameron When it comes to the anti hero of revival genres, Nu Metal will forever be in my heart. From the old school (Slipknot, Korn, Limp Bizkit) to the nu school (Tallah, Ocean Grove, Vended) there’s been something that continues to draw me back to my teenage years continuously.

However after all this time and all the names I recognise, one of the slightly more underground names that never really came across my radar was (Hed) P.E. The Huntington Beach Group renowned for their Reggae/Ska influenced Nu sound, the band are once more back in Australia for the release of their 2023 album Detox. Equipped with nothing more than a desire to expand my musical knowledge and a playlist of the bands latest setlist provided to me by a fellow Live Wire team member, I set forth to The Triffid to witness the final night of (Hed) P.Es Australian tour. Hammers – Triffid – photos by Charlyn Cameron. Hed PE – Galatos, 15 February 2025: Review & Photo Gallery. On a warm, late summer evening, Auckland’s Galatos was transformed into a fiery cauldron of aggression, rhythm, and purgation of the ears as Hed PE tore through an electrifying set that had the crowd moshing and heads banging in unison. The iconic Southern California band, brought their A-game to this intimate venue, giving long-time fans and curious newcomers a show they won’t soon forget.

The opening act, Pull Down the Sun, was a force to be reckoned with as they shredded their instruments, while the crowd head banged in fierce, synchronised motion, making even Judas Priest proud. For over a decade, the band has fused Prog-Metal and riff-driven post-Rock to craft a celestial sound inspired by Māori mythology. Their massive riffs, ethereal soundscapes, and haunting choruses created a sonic journey through the mysteries of their homeland.

The audience was a sea of tattoos, long hair, and some dreads. To be honest, I hadn’t heard of Hed PE until the day before the show. Paul Marshall Related. Snap Scene: Hed PE, Max Watt's, Melbourne 7th Feb 2025 by Paul Miles - Whats My Scene. Words – Shelby LanePhotos – DjSedick It goes without saying that nu-metal is back with a thundering ressurgence. Kind of like that gum Special Agent Dale Cooper likes? I wanted to know what the fuss was all about so, I tutted my heals up to Max Watts alongside my best friend @djsedick and @lordrobsatan for my formal nu-metal education. Max Watts is a Melbourne institution and, I can confirm, that it is one of my personal favourite venues. I can recall seeing Behemoth and Munt there in 2024 and it being one of the best live music experiences I have had in my 31 years walking on planet Earth. Holding that sentiment in mind, I had a sneaking suspicion that I was also going to have an amazing and memorable experience. Alongside my fellow punters lining up, who were adorned in their (hed)P.E garb, sporting excited grins, it made me feel somewhat apart of an exclusive club.

Let me tell you, I was not prepared. Dan’s back so that requires another bev and a debrief! Live Review & Gallery: Hed P.E.
