Abstract Microphone arrays are today employed to specify the sound source locations in numerous real time applications such as speech processing in large rooms or acoustic echo cancellation. Location of a sound source is an important piece of information in speech signal processing applications. In this paper, we design a system that estimates the direction-of-arrival (DOA) (direction of received signal) for far field and near field wide band sources. The remainder of the paper is organized as follows. 2. Sound source localization is performed by the use of DOA.
