Is Awareness the same as Consciousness? (OASG 13) | Rupert Spira. Would you say that there is something that knows the coming and going of Consciousness, or would you say no, that there is nothing outside Consciousness? Rupert, A question for you again; a lot of non duality teachers (Nisargadatta especially) refer to what is prior to Consciousness, they call it “non conceptual awareness” or pure being…and in your book you say that there is nothing but Consciousness; for me it is the same, but it could be misleading to create a duality Consciousness/Awareness; that’s why it was quite refreshing that in your book, you don’t create this duality and say that deep sleep is Consciousness without an object, whereas in the traditional view, Awareness witnesses the coming and going of Consciousness, so obviously, duality is suggested ...so would you say that there is something that knows the coming and going of Consciousness, or would you say no, that there is nothing outside Consciousness?...

Dear Jerome, R. Now ask yourself: Is Awareness present? With love, Satsang with mooji. Marc Nicolaus | Facebook. Spirituality and Entrepeneurial Transformation. Spirituality is one of the three main philosophical views on the ultimate nature of reality. The first one is the theistic view which holds that the existence of God or a supreme being, an immortal soul or deities. The second one is atheism which is the belief in the nonexistence of God, any type of soul or deity. In this view, matter is the only reality.

The third view is agnosticism with the belief that the question of whether or not God, any type of soul or deity exists either has not been or cannot be answered. Because spirituality has its strongest grounding in theology it often has a connotation with religion. As religion plays a smaller role in people’s lives nowadays, spirituality is now developing as a concept that is no longer synonymous with religion and can even be in a non-denominational way thereby adapting to many areas of life as a source of enrichment and meaning. Management academics are aware of the importance and implications of spirituality for business. My Teachers. I encountered the Buddha Dharma in 1965 while working with Tibetan refugees in northern India (see Widening Circles, A Memoir), and it became central to my life and work.

My revered teachers in the Tibetan Kargyu tradition include the Ven. 8th Khamtrul Rinpoche, Sister Karma Khechog Palmo, Ven. Dugu Choegyal Rinpoche, and Tokden Antrim of the Tashi Jong community. My main meditative practice is vipassana in the Theravadin tradition, for which I thank Nyanaponika Thero and Rev. Sivali of Sri Lanka, Munindraji of West Bengal, and Dhiravamsa of Thailand, as well as a number of fine American teachers. When I returned to graduate school, I harvested teachings from Buddhist scriptures. My doctoral work at Syracuse University focused on the Buddha's doctrine of dependent co-arising and its convergences with general systems theory (see my book Mutual Causality). As a student, he studied mathematics and theoretical physics. Then, as he became increasingly fascinated by the mysteries of the human mind he changed to experimental psychology. Pursuing this interest, he traveled to India to study meditation and eastern philosophy, and on his return to the UK and took up the first research post ever offered in Britain on the psychology of meditation. He also has a post-graduate degree in computer science, and conducted there some of the early work on 3-dimensional displays, presaging by some twenty years the advent of virtual reality. In the mid-seventies Peter Russell joined forces with Tony Buzan and helped teach “Mind Maps” and learning methods to a variety of international organizations and educational institutions.
