OSCN. Justice Rudolph Hargrave has passed away Tuesday April 1. Our condolences to his wife Madeline and their family. Graveside services were held on Friday April 4 at 2 p.m. at the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, located on SH-56, just south of U.S. 270. More information is available at Justice Hargrave was born in 1925 in Shawnee and resided in Wewoka. He attended Wewoka public schools, East Central State University in Ada, and the University of Oklahoma where he received his law degree in 1949. He was County Judge for Seminole County from 1964-1967 and from 1967-1969 was Seminole County Superior Court Judge.

On October 10, 1978, Hargrave was appointed to the Oklahoma Supreme Court by Governor David L. More recently, Justice Hargrave was honored by the namesake "Hargrave Prize" award, first given in 2013 as an annual recognition of the best three faculty papers of the Sovereignty Symposium. OCRA.
