Alexander Berzin May 2003 [This article is also available in Slovenian translation.] Introduction Many high-ranking members of the Nazi regime, including Hitler, but especially Himmler and Hess, held convoluted occult beliefs. Prompted by those beliefs, the Germans sent an official expedition to Tibet between 1938 and 1939 at the invitation of the Tibetan Government to attend the Losar (New Year) celebrations.
Tibet had suffered a long history of Chinese attempts to annex it and British failure to prevent the aggression or to protect Tibet. Under Stalin, the Soviet Union was severely persecuting Buddhism, specifically the Tibetan form as practiced among the Mongols within its borders and in its satellite, the People’s Republic of Mongolia (Outer Mongolia). The Tibetan Government was exploring the possibility of also gaining protection from Japan in the face of the unstable situation.

One type of terrain I don’t have any of is desert terrain. Since I have a Tau army and, now, a crew of wild-west style gunslingers for Malifaux, I figured I needed some. First, some inspiration:- If it looks familiar, just imagine Captain Kirk climbing up the slope. We have lots of rocks with clearly defined, thinly spaced strata, all running in the same direction. There are also large patches of rock, scree and gravel and sparse vegetation. This is how my pieces look at the end of Stage 1:- I made three pieces to start with, and this shows you the final scale. Step 1. Something for the base. Step 2. Step 3.
Step 4. Step 5. Step 6. It is important to remember when planning the shape of your piece that it is going to be used in a game. Step 7. Some of the polyfilla will be too hard to reach with your 1/2″ brush. Step 8. The finished piece, with Papa Loco for some scale. The second finished piece. Horten Ho 229 by Toby Nelson (Dragon 1/48) Horten Ho 229A by Toby Nelson The flying wing is one of the recurring themes in aviation history. The appeal is greater lift and reduced drag. Work on developing flying wings progressed on both sides of the Atlantic during World War II. In America, Jack Northrop developed a series of flying wings culminating in the B-35/B-49 bomber. In Germany, Reimar and Walter Horten worked along similar lines.
By 1945, the Hortens had gone through several flying wing gliders and Gotha received a contract to produce a turbojet-powered version of Hortens' design. The first Ho 229 was a glider. The US Army captured the Gotha factory on April 14, 1945 and found the nearly-complete Ho 229 V3, along with several other prototypes in various stages of construction. It's worth noting that in many ways the Ho 229 was the worlds first stealth airplane. A Pointless Story that will Interest No One... Wewelsburg Castle in northwestern Germany was the spiritual home of Hitler's murderous SS and ever since 1945, neo-Nazis and Satanists have spun myths about torch-lit ceremonies and ancient Nordic rituals that supposedly went on behind its walls. The 17th century triangular building was converted in the 1930s by thousands of slave laborers working with a bizarre blueprint devised by Heinrich Himmler, the diminutive leader of the organization that epitomized the evil of Hitler's killing machine. There can be no doubt that the place lends itself to fantasy.
A dark, eerily echoing crypt with 12 pedestals around the wall and a gas pipe for an eternal flame in the center stands at the base of the north tower. On the floor above, in the circular "Hall of SS Generals," the occult symbol of a "Black Sun" is set into the marble floor. The place has exuded a dark fascination for the last six decades. What was it all meant for? Mystical pagan rituals to invoke Norse gods? Boom in Nazi Research. Mongo's Wafflehouse: And Finally..... Mongo's Wafflehouse: I'm not internationally known, but I'm known to rock the microphone and other such nonsense. So I went to a train show a few weeks ago and made a dark and terrible discovery.....wait, is that right? No I think I meant totally radical discovery. I introduce you to Child Guidance Toys building kits from the 1960's This beautiful little toy from the era of Mama Cass allows you to build all kinds of different structure and works very nicely with my 15mm Rebel Minis.
Every piece has a perfect brick pattern and the pieces allow you to build individual floors of the buildings so your zombie hunters can go exploring for ammo and canned goods and Linnea Quigly and what not. If you don't like the toy roofs that come with you can paint them or build your own roofs. You also will have to cut up some cardboard so that each story has its own floor, but that shouldn't take long.
I snagged a big bag of this stuff at the train show and a couple other sets off of ebay and should be in good shape to build a whole zombie city with these as well as a whole zombie suburb. TimeCast Range 30 - 15mm South East Asian Buildings. City Classics Kits.
