They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They will mount up with wings as eagles. They will run & not be weary. They will walk & not faint. Isaiah 40:31

How is it that homelessness – one of the most egregious violations of human rights globally – can be so invisible?
The answer lies in the fact that we have done pretty much everything we can to erase homeless people from our sight and from our minds. How governments, the media, and the affluent treat homeless people has a significant impact on how the rest of us view them and, ultimately, how homeless people view themselves. They have become a social group that, if not ignored completely, is faced with relentless vilification, discrimination, criminalisation and even hate crimes. In many countries, homeless people who are engaged in the simple acts of eating and sleeping in the only spaces available to them – parks, public squares, or vacant lands – are subject to criminal sanction, given tickets (like illegally parked cars), and forcibly removed from city centres (also like illegally parked cars). But we need to resist the urge to blame the victim.
The Opposite of Rape Culture is Nurturance Culture. The opposite of masculine rape culture is masculine nurturance culture: men* increasing their capacity to nurture, and becoming whole.
The Ghomeshi trial is back in the news, and it brings violent sexual assault back into people’s minds and daily conversations. Of course violence is wrong, even when the court system for handling it is a disaster. That part seems evident. Triggering, but evident. But there is a bigger picture here. A meme going around says ‘Rape is about violence, not sex. Games. Human-being. Spiritual Being. Python. Revision. Resources. Drawing a Mind Map from Start to Finish. Thanks for visiting! As the subject matter for this Mind Map I decide to investigate what a “Curious Brain” is and how it could impact continual learning and development Starting with a central image that best represents the subject being explored; in this case I have used an illustration of a brain and have started to add main branches (initially I work in pencil so that adjustments can be made if necessary before adding ink and colour) To avoid the Mind Map becoming crowded and particularly if you are using it as a memory aid, it is preferable to have no more than 11 main branches I start to consider what a Curious Brain is. I add the word “think” as another main branch and then progress again by adding more main keywords “Look” comes to mind, so I then add that keyword and branch out further Same again for the word “write” Critical Thinking. 12 Principles Of Mobile Learning.
12 Principles Of Mobile Learning by Terry Heick Ed note: This post has been updated and republished from a 2012 post Mobile Learning is about self-actuated personalization.
As learning practices and technology tools change, mobile learning itself will continue to evolve. For 2016, the focus is on a variety of challenges, from how learners access content to how the idea of a “curriculum” is defined. It is only within these communities that the native context of each learner can be fully understood. 1. A mobile learning environment is about access to content, peers, experts, portfolio artifacts, credible sources, and previous thinking on relevant topics. 2. As mobile learning is a blend of the digital and physical, diverse metrics (i.e., measures) of understanding and “performance of knowledge” will be available. 3. The cloud is the enabler of “smart” mobility. 4. Transparency is the natural byproduct of connectivity, mobility, and collaboration. The Tragic Story of How This Man Learned What Love Is - and Isn't - Is Truly Heartbreaking. Indigenous Cultures Have Primal Posture & No Back Pain Unlike Americans.
Back pain is a major problem in America, with about 1/3 of the population unable to find treatments that will help.
Chronic back pain can be crippling and severely reduce the amount of exercise and overall enjoyment one can experience. There are other cultures that don’t have this problem. There are some, in fact, that rarely have any cases of back pain at all. One indigenous tribe in central India reported essentially none. And the discs in their backs showed little signs of degeneration as people aged. An acupuncturist in Palo Alto, Calif., thinks she has figured out why. About two decades ago, Esther Gokhale started to struggle with her own back after she had her first child. “I had excruciating pain. Does this sound familiar? Gokhale had a herniated disc.
