Oct 17, 2013 nendo throws one to the dogs with heads or tails accessories nendo throws one to the dogs with heads or tails accessoriesphotos © akihiro yoshidaall images courtesy of nendo nendo has designed a three-piece dog accessory collection called ‘heads or tails’ for the japanese lifestyle magazine pen. the series of puppy products consists of a geometric bed, dishes and toys, all which have multiple applications and functions. the artificial leather bed — a construction of triangular panels connected in polygon mesh — becomes a small domed hut when the dog burrows inside, and transforms into a cushion when they lie on top. the ceramic dishes are reversible, with a shallow side for food and a deeper bowl for water when inverted. the silicon rubber toy ‘bone’ can be reshaped into a ball by tucking in its two ends. the set of items comes in two color variations – white and black – to harmonize with all home interiors. the geometric dog bed / hut combination.

Explication du créateur : « L’idée était de développer une cage dont la forme casserait les codes classiques. Faire en sorte de l’intégrer dans l’habitat en la mixant à une console. La connexion entre la cage et les cloches de verre fait référence à ces oiseaux empaillés qui prennent ici vie. Clin d’œil aux cabinets de curiosités.

Toujours un peu de mal avec les créations « artistiques » ou « design » pouvant laisser à désirer le traitement des animaux, le débat n’est pas là, mais ici l’habitat semble préservé sans dénigrer la cohérence de l’ensemble.
