One of the really great things about the work I’m involved in is that I get to meet so many amazing people who are doing so much to solve big problems and make positive change in the world. It’s a real privilege to learn from these people who truly inspire me. More people should know about them and the great things they’re doing. That’s one of the reasons why I was excited when I was asked not only to speak at the TED conference again this year but also to pick some people to tell their stories too. TED stands for technology, entertainment and design, but the conference, which is held each spring in Long Beach, California, showcases ideas in many disciplines that are shaping our future. I thought a long time about who I should invite to speak at the session I was asked to curate.
