10th International Flower Exhibition - Groot-Bijgaarden (Grand-Bigard) Castle - Floralia Brussels. « Floralia Brussels from 4 April until 8 May 2014 » The spring flower exhibition in the park and the greenhouses at the castle of Groot-Bijgaarden will celebrate its 11th anniversary, join us and enjoy an unforgettable flower experience. The park, which is about 14 hectares, incorporates nearly all spring bulb varieties.The castles’ gardeners have planted by hand, under the direction of specialists from The Netherlands, more than 1 million bulbs.During the four weeks in which the exhibition takes place flower lovers will have the opportunity to discover 500 varieties including 400 tulip varieties.The tulips are divided into three categories: early flowering, midseason and late flowering but may also be labelled as classic triumph, botanic tulips, lily flowers, viridiflora, parrots and multi–flora.
Amongst the narcissi and daffodils, very rare varieties can be discovered such as the papillon narcissus and numerous botanical varieties. Indoor exhibition Concept. Het O.B.E.R. Kerstbierfestival. O.B.E.R. (Objective Beer tasters Essen Region) organizes its Christmas Beer Festival every year. For two days visitors can taste about 170 Belgian Christmas and winter beers. To let you judge the different brews at best, we use 15 cl tasting glasses. A glass can be obtained for 3 Euro, but if you return it to us when you leave, you get a full refund.
Our beer list is regarded as one of the best in the world, with several scoops and interesting gems combined with world classics. At last year's festival about 3000 thirsty Christmas-beer-lovers came to the festival in Essen. To deal with the growth of the festival and to shorten the queue outside we'll arrange a "fast lane" (snelkassa) where you can buy a set with a glass, a booklet with tasting notes and 9 tokens for 20€ (preferably exact change).
