Crochet around a popsicle stick to create the lovely broomstick lace stitch (video tutorial)

Infinity scarves and lacy tops are in vogue right now, so being able to make your own to hand out to friends and family will make you everyone's favorite. Grab some yarn, a small crochet hook and either a popsicle stick, dowel rod or knitting needle. To create a finer lace, use thinner yarn, a smaller crochet hook, and a smaller rod. If you want to go old style, you can use a broomstick handle in place of the knitting needle, but that might be a little awkward. With your supplies in hand, you are ready to embark on the Broomstick Lace stitch. What can you make with the broomstick lace stitch? Blogger 4474 has figured out how to create a beautiful beret out of one skein of yarn using just the Broomstick Lace and the sc and the dc.

After seeing some great circular vests and talking about them with a fellow crocheter last festival, I came home inspired to do something I’ve had in my notebook for a while – rework my Lotus Throw pattern into a mandala-based circular vest!

Angel Wings Shawl CAL

Dawn in the Woods Shawl. Free Shawl Crochet Pattern Dawn in the Woods is a fun, scarf-like shawl featuring an eye-catching pineapple crochet border.

Dawn in the Woods Shawl

The basic shape of this shawl is a long, flat triangle, which means that the shawl can be wrapped or draped just like a scarf. The shawl is worked sideways, starting at one narrow end of the triangle, getting wider towards the middle and then narrowing again on the other side. The body of the shawl is made up of V-stitches and is quite straightforward to work, as long as you mind the increases and decreases.

The shawl's border is the real challenge in this project, and is actually pineapple crochet! As many projects, this shawl started with a yarn. That said, this shawl can be made with almost any color or weight of yarn, including lace, sport, DK or even worsted-weight, as long as you use the appropriate hook. Summer Diamonds Kimono Cardigan. A couple of months ago, I was introduced to this this Lularoe phenomenon, and have been purchasing patterned dresses and skirts for work (and play).

Summer Diamonds Kimono Cardigan

I noticed pretty quickly that I was depending on my one cashmere cardigan whenever I wore anything even slightly fitted to cover those, well, areas I felt would be better covered. So when I was given the opportunity to work with We Are Knitters, I figured this was the perfect time for me to get into the wearables game with this Summer Diamonds Kimono Cardigan, especially since I already dipped my toes in the water with M’s Purple Princess Dress. Now, it was time to make something nice for mommy! Peach Dream - Crochet DROPS jacket worked in a square with lace pattern in ”Paris”. Size: S - XXXL. - Free pattern by DROPS Design. Looking at one point knit upside down, you see the half point. He is the point as the point knitting gets more relief. A combination of these two points, following a particular knitted mould, is where a piece of the other differentiates.
