Adeline

Adeline was the youngest girl in this family of eight - and the next to youngest child. She was born September 7, 1921, and lived her young life in Granton. She went to Hylandale Academy during her high school years. That's where she met Howard Berger. They were married Sunday, September 1, 1940, at her parent's home. Adeline was better known as Sis. She always grew a huge garden and canned tons of good food. She made many of our clothes and mended hundreds of our socks. Adeline wrote: I graduated from Hylandale, May 1939. We were married September first. More Howard was born August 18, 1919, to Arthur and Annie Berger. Howard attended Jasper one-room school house during his elementary schooling and Hylandale Academy during high school. Howard was a business man, running three different businesses in his life.
