This Valentine's Day we once again have a special promotion that asks that you help us to SHARE THE LOVE with the many homeless and abused animals that are cared for each day at the shelter. Two generous donors have approached us with the idea of having a fund drive during the month of February. These donors will match every donation made through this drive, up to a total of $9,000 ! Ways to Donate : 1. Mail in your donation with Share the Love noted on the check. 2. Open your heart this February, and share your love of animals with those animals who are in need of a little love and attention. So that donation of $10 is now turned into $20 and can help us provide medication to one more sick or injured animal. 2/16/14 Update - We've raised $3000 so far!

Latest Articles Latest Q&A The animal welfare committee I volunteer at has 2 main initiatives being TNR, and rescue of kittens and adoptable feral cats (occasional surrenders...endless dump jobs) I cannot find NJ's legal position on whether rescues are required to have the pet S/N prior to adoption.

Not for lack of trying, i just about have the NJAC_823a shelter and disease control 23 page doc committed to memory, and the NJ dep of health and senior services might as well be in my Internet speed dial... All I can come up with is most of the large humane societies will not adopt before s/n, but have for that smaller volunteer based rescues do. I am not aware of a New Jersey law requiring shelters or rescuers to spay/neuter animals prior to adoption. Submitted by Anonymous Answered by Elinor Molbegott Browse our extensive expert advice:
