I was asked yesterday to give a training day to college lecturers and it was all fairly run of the mill stuff like showing them advanced features on Facebook and Youtube and some of the upcoming trends. These were lecturers from the hospitality industry who wanted to empower their students with social media knowledge to send them out in to the big bad commercial world with. Towards the end one person asked me a simple enough question that caught me off guard “If you only had one hour to teach students about social media what 5 things would you tell about?”
