The conditions around applying for housing at LU Accommodation are slightly different depending on whether you are an exchange student coming to Lund through an exchange agreement with a partner university or if you are coming independently, to do a Master’s programme for instance. Exchange students - autumn semester 2014 The application period for exchange students applying for autumn 2014 housing will open 09.00(am) CET on 16 April and close 30 April.
Admitted exchange students will receive the link to the application form from your international coordinator. To be eligible for a room through LU Accommodation we must have received notice from the international coordinator at Lund University that you have been accepted for studies. All exchange students are recommended to apply for accommodation as early as possible when the application opens. Accommodation is allocated on a first come, first served basis. When you apply, you will be able to state your housing preferences and the sooner you pay your tuition fee and the housing application can be confirmed, the more housing options will be available. Therefore, it is very important that you pay your tuition fee as soon as possible after you have accepted your place. To be guaranteed housing at your arrival we ask you apply no later than the 15 June (for the autumn semester). LU Accommodation is part of Student Services at Lund University and offers housing for international students. LU Accommodation manages a limited number of rooms and flats in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö.
There is a great demand for housing and unfortunately we are not able to guarantee housing for all international students. The flats are normally reserved for couples where both applicants have been accepted for studies at Lund University. Please also note that we are unable to offer family accommodation. LU Accommodation is mainly a service for international exchange and degree-seeking students. PhD students and international guests can normally not receive housing through LU Accommodation and should contact their department for help and advise regarding housing. Important rental information Rooms offered by LU Accommodation are rented for the full academic semester, from 15 August to 31 December 2014 (autumn semester) and from the beginning of January to 15 June 2015 (spring semester).
