QCAD

QCAD is an application for computer aided drafting in two dimensions (2d). With QCAD you can create technical drawings such as plans for buildings, interiors, mechanical parts or schemas and diagrams. QCAD works on Windows, Mac OS X and many Linux and Unix Systems. The source code of the QCAD community edition is released under the GPL (Open Source).

FreeCAD

FreeCAD is a general purpose feature-based, parametric 3D modeler for CAD , MCAD, CAx , CAE and PLM , aimed directly at mechanical engineering and product design but also fits a wider range of uses in engineering, such as architecture or other engineering specialties. It is 100% Open Source and extremely modular, allowing for very advanced extension and customization. FreeCAD is based on OpenCasCade , a powerful geometry kernel, features an Open Inventor -compliant 3D scene representation model provided by the Coin 3D library, and a broad Python API. http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/free-cad/index.php?title=Main_Page
http://www.ar-cad.com/index.html AR-CAD offers free 3D CAD Software with Motion Simulation Capabilities, namely freeCAD and StCAD . It also offers SC-Motion , a motion and dynamic simulation addin for SpaceClaim . It has expertise in the areas of CAD software/addin development, Multibody dynamics etc.

http://www.opencascade.org/ Open CASCADE Technology is a software development platform freely available in open source. It includes C++ components for 3D surface and solid modeling, visualization, data exchange and rapid application development. Open CASCADE Technology can be best applied in development of specialized CAD/CAM/CAE applications. The typical applications built with help of OCCT are pre- and post-processors for finite element analysis software, CNC/CMM path generators, numerical simulation programs, etc. Open CASCADE Technology (former CAS.CADE) exists from the mid 1990-s and has already been used by numerous commercial clients belonging to different domains − from software edition to heavy industry. The platform is provided by the Company bearing the same name − OPEN CASCADE SAS , which is a subsidiary of EURIWARE.

BRL-CAD

After a few month release hiatus, BRL-CAD 7.20.4 is now available providing several dozen bug fixes and feature enhancements. Our support for NURBS geometry continues to stabilize with improved step-g import support, ray tracing enhancements, better wireframes, and numerous robustness improvements. MGED/Archer continues to approach an alpha release with support added for interactive editing of pipe primitives, improved visualization, new BoT mesh healing capabilities, and more. http://brlcad.org/
