Of the 187 billion pounds of paper produced on our planet every year, how many are used this creativelyA distinctly modern variant of classic origami art, these three-dimensional works rise up from the page as if the paper were coming alive – animated shapes, scenes and figures carved crisply from generic white paper stock. The sheets themselves are technically blank (canvasses, if you will) from which Peter Callesen cuts his storybook forms, bent upward and back in on one another – both liberated but also still tied to the page from whence they came. No, really: would you want to design, build and live in an real fantasy tree house all year round? More and more people have decided to do just that and where treehouses were once novelty architecture for kids they are now (almost) mainstream structures, as attested to by the pictures above via Bella Seven . Some of the results are little auxiliary spaces intended for guests or vacations while others are fully developed tree homes with everything need for daily living.

A combined pool-and-deck design can be a great green way to make a useful swimming or lounging area that is both visually and ecologically more integrated and sustainable.
Everyone loves the idea of curling up with a book – but how about within a bookcase ? The Cave is a combination bookcase and lounge chair design that provides a comfortable, cozy and visually secluded place to wrap yourself in your favorite volume and read for a while with a soft overhead light. For children, the bookcase chair provides a nifty crawl space and it can even be a pet retreat. Placed against the wall it becomes a cozy nook and put in the center of a room it becomes a spatial divider with accessibility through its center. While the Cave is a nifty design it is not the only conceptual furniture for combining lounging and book storage :
