Cosmic Puzzles by Scott Davis

Where did you grow up? Oorutaichi ???????????????????????? I think I was a very shy and well behaved child. I grew up in a slightly deserted town in Nara, Japan. SD What are some early musical memories? O ?????????????? I was influenced by Shinro Ohtake and EYE’s “Puzzle Punks” when I was in high school, and I have fond memories of going to the park or scrap yard with a cassette recorder to make improvised recordings. SD Do you think your surroundings influence your music? ? Nara, where I grew up, wasn’t a place where I could make the music that I wanted. SD Your music is extremely colorful. Yeah, I think it’s very colorful.

SD Your music is also playful and friendly, do you hope for that? ?????????? Yes, I think that also comes naturally. SD You play acoustic instruments but also make music using new technology. Lately, I’ve once again realized how wonderful acoustic instruments are, or even simply singing. Bonnie Hayes. Early Years[edit] Bonnie Hayes is the eldest of seven children, four of whom are noted professional musicians. She is the sister of Chris Hayes, former lead guitarist of Huey Lewis and the News, and Kevin Hayes, drummer with the Robert Cray Band.[1] The family moved to San Francisco from the San Joaquin Valley in 1970 and immediately began to play locally in the jazz fusion band Sweetmeat.

During the mid and late 70's, she attended Washington High School and San Francisco State University. She also began her long relationship with Blue Bear School of Music as a teacher of piano and theory/composition. 1984 brought the release of Brave New Girl, on Hayes's and producer Steve Savage's Bondage Records. The Wild Combo enjoyed a rabid local following in San Francisco through the 1980s, and toured opening for Huey Lewis as well as other new wave acts during this time.

It’s late so here we go… "This business is not for the faint of heart or thin of skin. " That is the harsh reality that I pass on to bright eyed students and once upon a time, standard job bearers that suffered through Promethean and Sisyphean torments who experience that “oh sh$t, i’m an artist” lightbulb that pops on to lend limelight to a future of what can be. As such, I try to never take the stance of the firmly jaded. I still believe that you can make a living via your art. So the questions I ask the aforementioned proselytes are: What is your definition of success? The thing that hinders us are the definitions we place on ourselves or on others that we glean from society and our own upbringing.

Last October Beats By Girlz had just become a thing and now it’s a fully funded and functioning program at the Lower Eastside Girls Club in downtown NYC and we’ve got the J Dilla Foundation and the ladies from Dubspot about to jump on board as well.I’ve got events and performances coming up at NYU for the Ableton Campus Tour, a presentation at Grammy Camp for the Recording Academy and a Women in Technology weekend workshop at Berklee College of Music all happening this year .The single off my upcoming album, Dear John, is about to drop with an amazing remix of it done by 16 year old Kaelin Ellis… and when that happens we’ll be dropping some BIG NEWS on everyone about a community/user remix initiative that’s about to launch in conjunction with Blend.io. This has been over a year in the making so my team and I are excited to share…. very soon!!
