Sheila Hicks

Hastings, Nebraska 1934) graduated with a BFA and MFA from Yale University; she lives and works in Paris, France. Hicks has exhibited internationally and was included in the São Paulo Biennial in 2012. Recent solo presentations include La Pêcher dans La Rivière, Alison Jacques Gallery, London (2013); Sheila Hicks: 50 Years organised by the Addison Gallery, Andover, MA, travelled to the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia and the Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC (2010/11) and the Mint Museum, Charlotte, North Carolina (2012); Entrelaces par Sheila Hicks, Textiles and Wickerworks of America and Oceania, Passage de Retz, Paris (2010); and Sheila Hicks: Weaving as Metaphor, Bard Graduate Centre for Studies in Decorative Arts, Design and Culture, New York, New York (2006).
