Early years | CWDC. High quality early years provision can have a significant impact on a child’s development, progress at school and ultimately, their future life chances. If all children are to benefit, the early years workforce must be well qualified, professional and dedicated to support a child’s healthy and happy development.
To improve outcomes for children the government is committed to raising the proportion of the early years workforce with relevant and appropriate qualifications to work with babies, toddlers and young children. In the recent policy statement ‘Supporting Families in the Foundation Years’, the government clearly sets out its vision for the early years workforce, stating that “A well qualified workforce makes a real difference to the quality of support that expectant mothers, fathers and families with young children receive”. In this section you can find more information about our early years projects and initiatives that are paving the way to make our vision a reality.
