Burn-up and Burn-down Charts

It is the time for the team to take one step back, look at the project as a whole, comparing notes, and make continuous improvements. It is also the time for the team to report the progress and any difficulties encountered, so that the stake holders can make plan adjustments and provide help if needed. Planning Poker. The Gordon Pask Award for Contributions to Agile Practice

(As of Calendar-year 2011.) The Gordon Pask Award is intended to bring greater visibility and recognition to members of the Agile community, for recent contributions to Agile practice which deserve to be more widespread. The Gordon Pask Award recognizes two people whose recent contributions to Agile Practice make them, in the opinion of the Award Committee, people others in the field should emulate. In order that people might emulate them, the Agile Alliance will award each recipient a grant of USD 5000 to fund their work and help them gain additional exposure.

In order to grow the next generation of Agile thought leaders, the Award is given to people who the selection committee believes have the potential to bring revolutionary, exciting or groundbreaking ideas to the agile community and change the way agilists work. Teams that only use these tools to report progress completely conceal information about how quickly a team can deliver new features. This is because velocity and burndown charts ignore the time to market aspect and provide zero quantitative information about how to improve it. A Cumulative Flow Diagram (CFD) is a visual tool that communicates a team's ability to deliver working software in a timely manner, showing a detailed picture of the entire process.
