DIY. This weekend I created an inspiration board for an empty wall space in our home. We're planning to place a desk directly underneath it to become my new work space. I guess this is more of an inspiration post than a D.I.Y. post, considering the final outcome is all based on the creator's personal style. I was surprised by how simple the project ended up being and only took about an hour. Take a look for yourself.. Supplies: Four large planks of wood, large metal mesh panel, liquid nails, magnets, metal clips. Pantry Supplies: Staple gun & staples, Hammer & nails, Wire cutters. *I found all of my supplies at Lowe's & Walmart. Begin by making a frame for your inspiration board. 3. Hope your weekend is going swell. Simple Shirt DIY. Here's the easiest clothing project you might ever come across. It all started when I found this old curtain in my fabric supplies. It's always been much too large to fit any windows in our previous and current home (plus had the most hideous stain taking up half of it), so I figured I could use it for a project.
This D.I.Y. only took about 10 minutes tops. Take a look.. Supplies: 2 x 1 1/2 yards of Fabric (try and recycle something you already have instead of buying something new!) Pantry Supplies: Scissors, sewing machine and/or needle and thread. 1. 2. I'm really fond of the pattern of this fabric and thought if you would like to create something similar, you could easily top stitch a similar pattern with different colored yarns.

Her hats are sick and her chunky knits are lusciously bold and amazing. And when we saw her Dylan scarf, we thought it was genius. Jersey-licious. For the past two years, stretch jersey fabric has been the bane of my crafting existence.
Thanks to stretch jersey, I swore off using my sewing machine for the past two years. Then I saw these scarves on Pinterest. Pinterest is going to be the end of me. I know this now. However, for once, I do believe my obsession with Pinterest has paid off. If you've never worked with stretch jersey (or probably any stretchy knit), you have no idea how insane it can make a person. So here are the two items of inspiration, which also came with tutorials. And then, as usual, I just made something up as I went along. Stuff you'll need: a sewing machine (although you could do it by hand) scissors (or if you're awesome, you can use your rotary cutter) jersey fabric (it's expensive...just FYI...about $14 a yard or so) So here is my tutorial (be sure to read through carefully, and then later ignore...as I would): STEP 5 So after the braiding is done, you need to lay things out to sew.
